• Notes

  Robert Gaylon Colclasure, 66, of Farina, passed away at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at Nature Trail Nursing Home, Mt. Vernon. He was born on Dec. 8, 1947 in Clay County, the son of Gerald G. and Mary E. (Sapp) Colclasure. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a laborer, worked in the oilfields and was a trucker. He was a member of the Edgewood American Legion Post 1168. He loved to tell stories and play horseshoes and shuffle board. He also loved to go squirrel hunting and fishing. Gaylon is survived by his sons, Cody, Brian, and Bradley Colclasure; daughter, Della Butler; Brother, Gene Colclasure; sisters, Patsy (husband Bill) Laycoax, Debbie (husband John) Norman, Denise (husband Don) Ellis, and Carol (husband Frank) Miller; step-sister Sharon (Cruse) Werner; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry, Lyle Colclasure and Dennis Cruse; and sister, Cheryl Green. Funeral services were held at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood. Interment followed in Iola Cemetery, with full military services. Memorials to the Iola Cemetery or the Edgewood American Legion.
