Notes |
- Son of John Oliver and Ruby Ilene Cochran Bangert. He was killed in an automobile accident. Brother of Everett Maurice, Ronald Gene, and Jona Bea Bangert.
Pat Bangert, 5 year old son of Mr. & Mrs. John Bangert of Ingraham, was killed instantly about 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon in an automobile accident a half-mile north of Ingraham.
The accident occurred when the family auto, driven by Mrs. Bangert, skidded on loose gravel and went out of control.
Pat and his infant brother, Ronnie, one year old, were thrown from the auto.
Mrs. Bangert and Ronnie were taken to the Clay County hospital in Flora, where X-ray pictures showed that neither was seriously injured.
The body of Pat was taken to the Neal Funeral Home in Louisville.
Funeral services for the little boy will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Ingraham Christian Church. Burial also will be in Ingraham.
The accident, one of the several tragedies involving the death of children in this area in recent weeks, shocked the entire Ingraham community.
Pat was a son of John and Ruby Bangert and leaves besides his parents, an older brother, Maurice, 14, and his baby brother, Ronnie.
Also surviving are the little boy's materal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. W. R. Cochran , who reside near the Farmersburg store.
(When the accident occurred Mrs. Bangert and the two boys were en route home after visiting at the home of her parents.)
Mr. Bangert is well known throughout the Ingraham area. For several years he has been engaged in hauling oil from wells in the vicinity.
