- Alberta I. (Taylor) Combs, 85, of Olney, formerly of Noble, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2003, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Minister Marvin Leighty officiating.
Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Cemetery near Claremont.
Mrs. Combs was born May 6, 1918, in Kennett, Mo., the daughter of William Levi and Bertha (Gromer) Gross. She married Lysander Taylor in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1959. She later married William Combs in 1968. He preceded her in death in 1988.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Combs is survived by six daughters, Freda Payne and her husband Joe, of Joliet, Katy Gum and her husband Rod, of Salem, Ore., Gerald Shroyer, of Noble, Sharon Harper and her husband Terry, of Noble, Ann Lincoln and her husband Garry, of Marble Hill, Mo., and Sandy Kurtz, of Olney; a daughter-in-law, Regina Lewis of Louisville; four stepchildren, Ron Combs, Gene Combs, Joyce Lewis, and Sarah Pampe; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son, Charles, seven brothers, two sisters, one grandson and four great-grandchildren.
