    Virgil Warren Hasler, age 90 of Salem, died Thursday, March 23rd, at his home. He was a truck driver for WC Norris and was a member of the Orchardville Community Church. Virgil served in the Navy during World War II on the USS Randolph. He was involved in the battles of the Philippines, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa.

    Funeral services for Virgil Warren Hasler will be held at ten Monday morning at the Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem, with George Thompson, Paul and Dean Brown officiating. Burial in the Clay City Cemetery. Visitation will be from five to seven on Sunday. Memorials may be made to the SSM Hospice.
    Virgil Warren Hasler was born on October 23rd, 1926 in Chaffee, Missouri to Harry Hasler and Leila (Ireland) Hasler. His parents preceded him in death. Virgil married Non 'Peggy' Wilson on June 3rd, 1947 and she preceded him in death. He later married Karen Woodward on January 14th, 2005.

    Virgil was also preceded in death by two children: Pamela and Harry Wayne Hasler and four sisters: Mabel Clark, Opal Rusk, Anna English and Lucille Hasler.

    Military Service:
    Virgil served in the Navy during World War II on the USS Randolph. He was involved in the battles of the Philippines, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa.
