    Lloyd Maglone, 79, of Wilmington, IL, passed away Wednesday March 30, 2022, at Park Pointe Healthcare & Rehab Center.

    Private services will be held. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Osborne Nelson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

    Lloyd was born January 11, 1943, in Clay City, IL, to William and Bertha (Straley) Maglone . He married Doreen Berkland on Feb. 9, 1979 in Ottawa.

    He retired from ADM as a tow port engineer. He and he wife owned and operated Doreen’s Tap in Seneca. He was a member of Shadow Lakes Fishing Club.

    He is survived by his wife, Doreen Maglone; one daughter, Dawn (John)Vaughn; a son, Perry (Cheryl) Maglone; two grandsons, Nick (Taelor) Stuedemann and Nate Stuedemann; one great grandson, Rhett; and one sister, Alberta (Sam) Wells.

    Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents.

    Pallbearers will be Nick, Nate, & Doug Stuedemann, Perry Maglone, and John Vaughn.

    Memorials may be directed to Lightways Hospice Care, Joliet, IL.

    William Lloyd Maglone, 49, of 707 S. Richland St., Olney, passed away suddenly at his home.

    He was born in Clay County, IL, October 6, 1919, son of Thomas & Bertha Welsh Maglone.

    Mr. Maglone was married to Bertha Straley, September 21, 1941 in St. Charles, MO. His wife survives.

    He was a veteran of World War II & a member of the American Legion & VFW.

    He is survived by a son, Lloyd Dale Maglone of Hammond, IN; & Miss Alberta Maglone of Olney; one grandchild.

    Also surviving are brothers Robert & Marvin; sisters, Flossie Shock, Ellarea Bryant, Junita Hilderbrand, Loretta Connour, and Mrs. Marion Mattex.

    One brother, Kenneth, preceded him in death.

    Funeral services were at the Summers-Rainey Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Warren Phillips officiating. Interment in Smith Cemetery near Sailor Springs, IL.

    William married Straley, Bertha Mae on 21 Sep 1941 in St. Charles, St. Charles County, Missouri. Bertha (daughter of Straley, Gilbert Henry and Toliver, Elsie) was born on 14 Apr 1914 in Clay County, Illinois; died on 7 Feb 1996 in Richland County Memorial Hospital, Olney, Richland County, Illinois; was buried on 9 Feb 1996 in Smith Cemetery, Sailor Springs, Clay County, Illinois.     Bertha Mae Maglone, 81, of Olney, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1996 at Richland Memorial Hospital.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, with Rev. Kendall Bopp officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery in Clay City. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

    Maglone was born April 14, 1914 in Clay County, the daughter of Gilbert and Elsie (Tolliver) Straley. She married William L. Maglone Sept. 21, 1941 in St. Charles, Mo. He preceded her in death July 18,1969.

    She was a homemaker and a member of Christian Church of Olney.

    She is survived by a son, Lloyd Dale Maglone, and his wife, Doreen, of Seneca; a daughter, Alberta Wells and her husband, Glen, of Olney; a brother, Gleason Straley, of French Lick, Ind.; a sister, Helen Maglone, of Springfield; three grand-children, Perry, Dawn and Tony; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
