Selected for the Seabees and assigned in turn to Construction Battalion Replacement Depot, Camp Parks, Shoemaker, California; Advance Base Receiving Barracks, U.S. Naval Base, Port Hueneme, California; and Construction Battalion Detachment 1108, 20th U.S. Navy Construction Regiment. Honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class on August 10, 1946 at the Naval Personnel Separation Center, Great Lakes, Illinois. Earned the WWII Victory Medal by virtue of his service during the eligibility period.
