Notes: Carroll graduated from Maupin High School in 1950, and then moved to Portland to attend Multnomah Bible College. It was there that a roommate gave her the nickname by which she was known the rest of her life - "Penny" (after her beautiful red ha hair). Penny earned her Diploma in Bible from Multnomah in 1953, and then moved to Los Angeles where she attended nursing school. She graduated from Los Angeles County General Hospital's School of Nursing in 1956. It was while she was working as a registered nurse in Los Angeles that she met her husband to be, a dashing young doctor, Robert Gerard Haining ("Jerry"). Penny and Jerry married in Los Angeles on the 28th of February, 1958.

Notes: His early years were in Noble, Illinois, where his grandparents and many aunts and uncles also lived. But in 1906, when Everett was 8 years old, his father took a homestead claim near Minot, North Dakota. After proving up on the claim they stayeed at Rover, Missouri (east of West Plains) for a year while his father worked out on other farms. Then they stayed two months at Elk City, Oklahoma before returning to North Dakota. From 1910 to 1918 they farmed in North Dakota, but finding very little profit in it they left North Dakota in October 1918 and drove in a Jeffrey car to Cle Elum, Washington. A year later the family moved to Oregon, settling for about three years in Wapinitia, Wasco County, Oregon, USA. Rolla married Powell, Alma May on 16 Oct 1921 in Wapinitia Church, Wapinitia, Wasco County, Oregon. Alma (daughter of Powell, J.M. and White, D.A.) was born on 13 Nov 1899 in Wapinitia, Wasco County, Oregon; died on 12 Apr 1990 in Maupin, Wasco County, Oregon; was buried in Kelly Cemetery, Maupin, Wasco County, Oregon.
