    Zane Moseley, 84, of Clay City, died on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at his residence. Zane was born on October 11, 1935 in Clay County, IL, the son of Galen and Hazel (Travis) Moseley. He married Patsy (Herdes) on August 3, 1955 in Shawneetown, IL and she preceded him in death on September 28, 2012.

    Zane worked for IDOT for 34 years as a highway maintainer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending his property. Zane took pleasure in driving his tractor and helping others start their gardens each year.

    Zane is survived by his son, Tim (Randa) Moseley of Clay City; grandsons, Joshua (Tonya), Jacob, Adam (Tiffany) , and Dustin (Brittany) Moseley; granddaughter, Crystal (Myles) Lewis; step-grandchildren; Justin Clevenger, Keith Clevenger, and Bridget (Larry) Owenby; 17 great grandchildren; and sister, Judy Ashley.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Billy Moseley; and sister, Wilma Shaffer.

    Memorials can be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.

    A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Clay City, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Clay City Cemetery.

    Patsy H. Moseley, 74, of Clay City, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2012, at her residence.

    Patsy was born July 8, 1938, in Pixley Township in Clay County, the daughter of Leo and Clarabelle (Rinnert) Herdes. She married Zane Moseley on August 3, 1955. He survives.

    She was a homemaker. Patsy loved riding horses and enjoyed trail riding. She was a member of Sailor Springs Christian Church.

    Patsy is survived by her husband, Zane Moseley; sister, Katherine Wyatt; son, Tim Moseley; grandsons, Joshua, Jacob, Dustin, and Adam Moseley; granddaughter, Crystal Lewis; three stepgrandkids, Justin Clevenger, Bridget Dorman and Keith Clevenger; seven great-grandkids and one on the way.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Clarabelle Herdes, and brothers, Benny and Jack Herdes.

    Funeral services were held at the Summers-Kistler funeral home with Pastor Brad Harris officiating.

    Burial was in Clay City Cemetery.

    Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or The National Kidney Foundation, Inc.

    Hazel Pauline Moseley, 91, of Clay City, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Pavilion Nursing Home Center in Flora.

    Mrs. Moseley was born on April 15, 1912, in Clay County, the daughter of Bunyan and Lucy (Eden) Travis. She married Galen Moseley on December 18, 1929. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2001.

    She was a homemaker.

    Mrs. Moseley is survived by a son, Zane Moseley and his wife, Patsy, of Clay City; a daughter, Judy Ashley, of Clay City; five grandchildren, Bill Moseley, of Kinmundy, Karen Butler, of Hilliard, Ohio, Tim Moseley, of Clay City, Doug Shaffer, of Clay City, and Eric Aumiller, of Clay City; a sister-in-law, Alberta Travis, of Tuscola; and 15 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Billy, a daughter, Wilma Jean, a granddaughter, Janice Shaffer, and a grandson, Allen Moseley.
