    Military Service:
    Inducted, discharged and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve on 15 November 1943 at DHIRS, Charleston, West Virginia. Qualified as a rifle marksman and trained as a guard patrolman (special military qualification). Served with Headquarters Company of The Marine Island Command and participated in the battles at Tinian and Guam including duty as a half-track machine gunner and Japanese prisoners of war guard. Seriously injured in a jeep accident on Guam. Returned stateside for treatment and convalescence before being honorably discharged with a disability certificate as a Corporal on 4 June, 1946 from Casual Company, Marine Barracks, Naval Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Earned The Good Conduct Medal, The American Campaign Medal, The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and The WWII Victory Medal.

    Mrs. Weiler was born August 23, 1903, the daughter of John H. and Anna Mary Nagel Holman.

    She was a retired cook for the Clay City School District. She was a member of the Clay City United Methodist Church and the Flora Eastern Star.

    Surviving are two sons, Bill and Fred Weiler; one daughter, Anna Mary Carrington; one sister, Rosa Holman; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, and one daughter.

    Services were held at Hosselton Bookhout and Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City.

    Burial was in the Clay City Cemetery.
