Notes:

Early in life, he connected himself in business in Old Maysville, and at that time the firm with which he was connected bought up and slaughtered hogs of the surrounding county, built flat boats on the Little Wabash River and packed the products. When the river had its annual rise, the boats were floated out into the Big Wabash, then to the Ohio and on to the Mississippi and then to New Orleans.

Notes:

Sarah M daughter of Thomas J. & Sinah M. Bagwell was born Jan. 7, 1835 in Mt. Carmel, IL. She passed away April 10, 1915 at the Olney Sanitarium.

When very young they moved to Old Maysville where they kept a hotel or tavern on the old state road.

She married Morris Brissenden Dec. 22, 1853. Seven children were born, two died in infancy. Their only daughter Mary E. and a son, John died. Three sons are left: James, Fred, and Frank. She is survived also by three sisters: Mrs. Amanda Evans, Mrs. Elizabeth Mills, and Mrs. Lou McIlvain, all of Clay City.

Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery at Clay City.
