Completed basic training, attended the aerial gunnery school at Las Vegas Army Air Field, Nevada and qualified in the military occupational specialty of heavy trucck driver (931). Departed the U.S. on May 20, 1945 bound for the Pacific Theater of Operations. Assigned to and served with Company C, 1914th Engineer Aviation Battalion. Earned The American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal. Honorably discharged from the Corps of Engineers as a Technician Fifth Grade on April 10, 1946 at the Separation Center, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.
