    Charles Levitt was the son of William James Levitt (8-17-1832 to 4-27-1908) and Lydia Ann Wammack Levitt (1-1-1837 to 4-30-1902). He married Maud Lorena Coggan on Thanksgiving Day 11-27-1884 in Illinois. They moved to Texas in November of 1908 and settled on a farm near Allison.

    The children of Charles and Maud were: Myrtle Iva Levitt Bryan (3-20-1886 to 4-3-1957), Martha "Mattie" Levitt Newton (12-6-1887 to 6-28-1975), Nona Levitt Blake (8-13-1889 to 11-3-1977), Ethel Levitt Scott (5-1893 to 4-28-1968), Lester Levitt (8-5-1896 to 5-28-1972), and Malcolm Levitt (5-11-1900 to 4-8-1965).

    Charles married Coggan, Maud Lorena on 27 Nov 1884 in Illinois. Maud (daughter of Coggan, Denby II and Taylor, Ann) was born on 1 Nov 1863 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada; died on 3 Nov 1946 in Canadian, Hemphill County, Texas; was buried in Zybach Cemetery, Brisco, Wheeler County, Texas.     William James Levitt was born to Noah Levitt (6-9-1799 to 1-9-1856) and Mary Phillips Levitt (10-22-1811 to 11-30-1898). He married Lydia Ann Wammack on 3-16-1854.

    They were staunch members of the Christian Church and good business people. They lived one mile east of Sailor Springs on Levitt Prarie, Pixley Township, Clay County, Illinois.

    They were the parents of Charles Levitt.

    William James Levitt was known as "Red Bill".

Their daughter Maud was born in 1863 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, then at some point, they moved to Clay County, Illinois. Ann and both of Denby's parents, Denby Coggan (1797-1864) and Martha Butterworth Coggan (1798 - 1878) are buried in Clay City Cemetery, Clay County, Illinois but Denby II's grave was not found there.

    Noah Levitt was the son of Ignatious ("Nathan") Levitt (born 5-13-1774 near Daily, West Virginia; died 1844 or 1845 in Posey County, Indiana) and Elizabeth Carpenter Levitt (born about 1776 in Virginia; died 1813 in Posey County, Indiana). Nathan and Elizabeth were married 3-21-1796 in Clark, now Montgomery County, Kentucky and moved to Posey, Indiana (before it was a state) in about 1805.

    They were the parents of William James Levitt.
