    Mr. Pate was born April 8, 1948, in Clay City, the son of Ira and Betty (Connor) Pate. He was an oil field worker and also worked at Hella in Flora. Billy was a member of Louisville American Legion and Eagles. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

    He is survived by one son, James Dale (Amy) Pate of Louisville; four grandchildren, Cody Dell Pate, Tesla Enlow, Abby Nicole Pate and Emily Dawn Pate; and one great-granddaughter.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

    Funeral services were held at Neal Funeral Home, Louisville with military rites by the American Legion.

    Burial was in Clay City Cemetery.

    Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Beam officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Claremont.

    Mrs. McWilliams was born October 31, 1931, in Richland County, the daughter of Owen and Mary (Sharp) Payne. She married Van T. McWilliams on January 11, 1963, in Salem. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1987.

    She was a nurses aide at Burgin Manor in Olney.

    Mrs. McWilliams is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Kaye O'Dell and her husband, Jerry, of Noble; daughter, Mary Jean O'Dell and her husband, Larry, of Flora; son, Vernal Cantrell, of Olney; son, Rusty Cantrell and his wife, Lisa, of Olney; daughter-in-law, Linda Cantrell, of Olney; brother, Leon Sharp and his wife, Glenda, of Louisville; grandchildren, Marla and Derek Royse, Gary and Beth Cantrell, Julie and Jerry Doan, Melissa and Jason Cantrell, Jesse and Jessica Cantrell, Jody Cantrell and Terry, Brad and Tina Stanley, Chad Stanley, Dale and Amy Pate, Amy O'Dell and Rob, Christopher O'Dell, Cory O'Dell, and Clota and Chris Ellerman; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Van T. McWilliams, parents, Owen and Mary Payne; son, Don Cantrell; brother, Robert Payne; grandchildren, Scotty and Laurie; and two great-grandchildren.

    Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois.
