Upon return to the U.S on July 1, 1943 served as a Reserve Officer Training Corps Instructor (a detached enlisted men's list member) at Headquarters 3771st Service Command Unit, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska. Earned The American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and The WWII Victory Medal. Honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant on December 2, 1945 at the Separation Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
