Kay enjoyed visiting her siblings and relatives in many different countries. Her granddaughter, Olivia, was the apple of her eye. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Olney.

Kay married Bemont, Robert Ellis on 4 May 1946 in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. Robert (son of Bemont, Dennis and Lomas, Alda Myrtle) was born on 28 Feb 1924 in Richland County, Illinois; died on 24 Jul 1989 in Olney, Richland County, Illinois; was buried in Maple Dale Cemetery, Olney, Richland County, Illinois. They met while he was in the service and stationed in Calcutta during WWII. She followed Bob to the United States where she became a U.S. Citizen and lived the remainder of her life here.
