James was a retired farmer. He served in the US Army Air Force from 1941-1945. James was a crew chief on the C-47 and served in China-Burma-India Theater during World War II. As part of his job he traveled with his aircraft and had flown over the 'Hump". James enjoyed bowling, pitching horseshoes, and working with wood. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He held a church membership at Antioch Christian Church.

LENA BELL TOTTEN, 57 - Obituary

. Lena Bell Totten, 57, Olney, died at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday in Richland Memorial Hospital.
. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Totten presiding. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. tonight. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
. Mrs. Totten was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Richland County, the daughter of Edward and Ada (Russell) Schrader. She married James Totten May 29, 1945, in Richland County, and he survives.
. Other survivors include four sons, George, Larry, and Dave, all of Olney; and Leroy, Evansville, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Linda) Craig, Olney; three sisters, Dorothy Landgraf, Olney; Edna Evans, Noble; Geraldine Brown, Rinard; and seven grandchildren.
. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son James.
