Holman, Sr., of Salem, died at 11:10 am Monday at Goodo Smaritan Hospital, where he had been a ptient for the past four weeks.Mr. Holman, a retired farmer and merchant, would have been 90 years old on August 21.The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 4:00 pm today. At noon Wednesday the body will be taken to Powers church, south of Xenia, where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm by the Rev. W. A. Perry of Salem.Burial will be in Powers Garden cemetery.Mr. Holman was born August 21, 1873 in Wayne county, the son of Gilbert and Jennie (Cox) Holman.He was married to Amanda Frances Forth, who preceded him in death in 1953.Mr. Holman was a member of the Salem Church of God.He is survived by two sons, Bert B. Holman, Jr. of Mt. Vernon and Bob Holman of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Talbott of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Mrs. Edith Bradley of Askhum, Ill.; a half-brother, Roy Holman of Arlington, Texas; a half-sister, Faudie Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren

    Notes:

    Anthony Doherty, aged 62 years, died in Macon county hospital Wednesday morning at 4:45 o'clock, never regaining consciousness after being stricken with apoplexy in the office of Owen Scott Monday noon.

    The body was taken to Clay City Wednesday afternoon by his children who were with him when the end came. Funeral services will be conducted in Clay City Friday afternoon.

    In southern Illinois where he had been engaged for many years, Anthony Doherty was widely known as a traveling drug salesman. Thoughout the state he was know as a master Mason and as serving as junior grand warden of the Masonic grand lodge of Illinois at the time of his death.

    He was born in Bayou Sara, La, Aug 11, 1858, and when he was 14 years of age, his parents moved to Clay City, Ill. where he had since made his home.

    He is survived by his wife and six children.
