Notes:

Margaret (Allen) Stockwell was born 11 December 1838 and died 21 May 1870. She is buried in Clearspring Cemetery, Clear Spring, Jackson Co., Indiana. Her parents were William Allen and Axiom "Axey" Tatlock. Axiom was the sister of Sarah Tatlock, making Margaret the niece of Daniel and Sarah (Tatlock) Dawalt. Margaret's father, William Allen, died on 6 June 1863 and is also buried in the Clearspring Cemetery. Axey remarried Unknown Goen and is buried in Clearspring Cemetery next to her first husband, William Allen.
Margaret Allen married David A. Stockwell. David enlisted in the 67th Regiment, Company K, Indiana Infantry on 20 August 1862 and was discharged on 19 July 1865. In the 1870 Census, David is shown with three young girls that are most likely Margaret's daughters. David and his second wife are buried in Clearspring Cemetery.
