Betty M. McCommons, 79, of Ft. Wayne, IN formerly of Flora, IL died at 3:30 AM on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at New Haven Care & Rehab in New Haven, IN.
She was born February 12, 1930 in Parkersburg, IL to Albert F. & Bertha (Geade) Schuler. She married G. Dale "Mac" McCommons in Flora and he preceded her in death on July 17, 1998.
Betty was a seamstress and worked at Flora International Shoe, Bennett Clothing Manufacturing, and was co-owner of New Haven Antique Mall for 3 years.
She is survived by her children: Judy Gahan & husband John of Ft. Wayne, IN, Bea McDaniel & husband Jerry of Leo, IN, Phil McCommons of Ft. Wayne, IN, Sheila Kincaid & husband Dale of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Tom McCommons of Irving, TX; 1 sister: Bernelle Jennings of Ashkum, IL; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, February 12, 2010 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Canada officiating. Burial will be in Kneff Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to that of the donor's choice.
