    Notes:

    Elmer J. Bealer, 80, of Sumner, died Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville.

    Mr. Bealer was born in Claremont Township on September 15, 1890 and was a veteran of World War I. He was a retired oil field driller and also worked for the Illinois Division of Highways for eight years.

    He was a member of the Sumner United Methodist Church and the Lawrenceville post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

    He is survived by his wife, the former Reba Piper; a son, Neil Bealer of Bloomington; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Wishart of Fort Bragg, N. C.; four grandchildren; a brother, John Iaun of St. Petersburg, Florida; and a sister, Mrs. G. R. (Marguerite) Martin of Rt. 3, Sumner.

    Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Sivert Funeral Home in Sumner with Rev. Forrest Crouch in charge. Interment will be in Sumner City Cemetery with military rites at the graveside, rendered by the VFW Post at Lawrenceville.

    Friends may call at the Sivert Funeral Home in Sumner after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
