Buddy Carl Long, 70, of Batesville died Thursday, July 8, 2010, in Batesville.
Born March 15, 1940, in Bethesda, he was the son of Thomas Edgar Long and Lillian Branscum. He was a driller for road construction and a past member of Bethesda Fire Department. He was a member of Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church in Bethesda.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Sue Junkins Long; two sons, Carlin Wade Long and Jason Lane Long, both of Batesville; a daughter, Holly Sue Long of Batesville; a brother, Charles AJ Long of Bethesda; three sisters, Ima Jean Ingram and Imela Sneed, both of Bethesda, and Virginia Qualls of Florissant, Mo.; five grandchildren, Cara Long, Cindy Long, Whitley Butler and Rachel Butler, all of Bethesda, and Tara Connell of Ashland, Mo.; and two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Connell and William Connell, both of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Thomas Paul Long; two sisters, Thera Juanita Long Darnell and Gladis Vernell Long McCarroll.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church in Bethesda with Chris Sims and Larry Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery in Bethesda under the direction of Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.
