    Doris Junkins, 86, of Noble, died at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Burgin Manor in Olney.

    Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Reverend Bill Rennels officiating.

    Burial will be in Noble Cemetery.

    Mrs. Junkins was born on March 13, 1918, in Clay County, the daughter of Charles O. and Pearl (Luke) Fryman. She married Robert L. Junkins in January 1939. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1981.

    She was a homemaker.

    Mrs. Junkins is survived by three daughters, Myrna Tomblinson and her husband, Joe, of West Salem, Roberta Long and her husband, Buddy, of Batesville, Ark., and Barbara Thomann and her husband, Duane, of Noble; her special friend, Wayne Ater; two sisters, Dorothy Westbrook, of Batesville, Ark., and sister, Charlene Fulk, of Noble; and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, Jim Junkins, two brothers, Burt and Frank Fryman, a sister, Mildred, and one grandson.

    Memorials may be made to Shepard's Purse or the Gideons.

    Mrs. Edna Pearl Fryman, 79, of Noble, died Friday afternoon at the Richland Memorial Hospital.

    Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Noble Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Travis in charge. Burial will be in Clay City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday.

    Mrs. Fryman was the widow of the late Charles Fryman.

    She is survived by a son, Bert Fryman of Batesville, Arkansas; four daughters, Mrs. Doris Junkins and Mrs. Charlene Fulk, both of Noble, and Mrs. Mildred Westbrook and Mrs. Dorothy Westbrook, both of Vacaville, California. There are also fifteen grandchildren.

    Note from Carl W. Gray: I used to mow Pearl's lawn when I was a teenager. I remember that she had a lot of photographs and that she tried to explain the family history to me. I wish now that I had paid more attention.

    The 1880 Census for Busseron, Knox County, Indiana shows him living with George and Barbara (Herrington) Wilson as a farm hand, but does NOT indicate any relation to them.

    Was my previous information incorrect?

    Was Barbara Herrington not his mother?

    Hopefully, as I look at the earlier census reports, some of these questions will be answered.

    In the 1870 Census for Busseron, Knox County, Indiana, John A. Luke is 9 years old living with George W. and Barbara (Herrington) Wilson. I'm convinced that my previous information was correct. Barbara is the mother of John Albert Luke.

    John married Kincaid, Eliza Ann on 20 Dec 1880 in Knox County, Indiana. Eliza (daughter of Kincaid, Edward and Wolfe, Nancy Anne) was born on 10 Jun 1862 in Illinois; died on 4 Jul 1893 in Wayne County, Illinois; was buried in Powers Church Cemetery,. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
