    Loretta Pauline Wilder, 85, of Clay City, passed away on August 31, 2014 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

    Loretta was born on April 7, 1929 in Clay County, the daughter of John Franklin and Nellie Margaret (Wease) Pettyjohn.

    She was a member of the Clay City Garden Club Unit 8. Loretta enjoyed quilting and spending time with family and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. Loretta was a member of the Clay City Christian Church.

    Loretta is survived by her son, Danny E. Wilder; Son, Larry D. Wilder; Daughter, Phyllis K. Cox and husband, Gary; Son, Paul F. Wilder; Daughter, Lynn Wilder; 11 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren.

    Although Loretta was an only child, she was blessed with cousins who were more like sisters. Surviving cousins include Karen Marlow, Carol Raley, Rena Thomas, Donna Given, Cheryl Hampton and Terry Lentz.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild.

    Nellie M. BAYLER, 98, of Clay City, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

    Mrs. BAYLER was born May 14, 1907, in Clay County, the daughter of Oscar and Della (YAUCH) WEASE. She married John PETTYJOHN in 1925. He preceded her in death in 1957. She later married Earl BAYLER in 1968. He preceded her in death in 1986. She was a homemaker.

    Survivors include one daughter, Loretta WILDER of Clay City; one step-son, Dolan BAYLER of Clay City; two step-daughters and sons-in-law, Erma and Maurice DENTON of Olney, and Agnes and Ronnie HOSSELTON of Clay City; one sister, Geneva LENTS of Flora; grandchildren Danny WILDER and wife Dee of Goodman, MO, Larry WILDER of Plano, TX, Phyllis COX and husband Gary of Flora, Paul WILDER of Noble, and Lynn BURRETT and husband Martin of Noble; six step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.

    Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands, three sisters, one brother, one step-grandchild, and one great-grandchild.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 31, at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City, with Minister Carson ROOT officiating. Burial was in the Clay City Cemetery.
