Survivors include two sons, Louis, Olney; George, Dundas; six daughters, Rose Spillman, Wilma Cummins, and Maude Straley, all of Olney; Gladys Beidleman, Noble; Anna Eblin, Mt. Mr. Cantrell was born on November 13, 1932, in Adin, the son of Howard and Mantha (Trout) Cantrell, He married Clota Williams on August 1, 1959, in Fairfield. She survives. He was a self-employed cabinet maker. Pete and Nora C. (Prosser) Schnautz. She married Winfred Herdes on September 8, 1945 at the First Christian Church in Flora. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2000. She married John B. Gibson on September 18, 1929 in Vincennes, Ind. He preceded her in death on January 14, 983. She was a member of North Freedom Baptist Church in northern Richland County. She was a doll collector and had as many a 2,000 dolls at one time. She loved to make and repair dolls of all kinds. She was a loving wife, Homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She will be missed by all who knew her. Eva was born on April 10, 1928 in Wayne County, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar William and Merl (Ellis) Wyatt. She married CJ "Junior" Herdes on September 12, 1946 in Morganfield, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on October 24, 1989. Eva had many hobbies, including making quilts, and she had made over 400 quilts in her lifetime. She also enjoyed basket weaving and took pleasure in teaching others how to weave baskets as well as making quilts. Her other hobbies were embroidery, crocheting, and fishing. Eva especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her house was always open to family and friends. She was also a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin. Evelyn was born in Clay County to Jerry & Mary Pettyjohn Bricker. She was married to Herman Sullens on September 25, 1937. They were married for 68 years. She was a homemaker. She was also a member of Community Southern Baptist Church in Clay City. Her hobbies included baking pies, taking pictures, sewing and she enjoyed her family greatly. She taught Sunday School for over 40 years. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Delbert Payne of Sailor Springs, and Betty and Ira Simmons of Clay City; three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Shirley Sullens of Lakeview, Florida, Tom and Myrna Sullens of Carthage, Texas, and David and Cathy Sullens of Kilgore, Texas; brother Harold Bricker of Clay City; grandchildren, Dean Payne of Sumner, Linda Norris of Sailor Springs, Albert Payne of Sailor Springs, Brenda Lynn of Clay City, Donna Stanley of Clay City, Wendell Simmons of Clay City, Diane Gill of Clay City, Steve Sullens of Florida, Rusty Sullens of Florida, Barbara Brance of Indiana, Rebecca Brown of Florida, John Sullens of Texas, Keith Sullens of Texas, Christiana Pritchett of Texas, James Sullens of Clay City, Dawn Epps of Texas, and Michael Sullens of Texas; 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchildren. She married Richard A. Wise on September 27, 1945 in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1958. She later married J.P. Mugrage who also preceded her in death. She was a civil service worker, a secretary at Clay County Hospital in Flora, and was a member of the Flora First Church of God. Evelyn enjoyed being with her family, playing cards with friends, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, and was always an upbeat person who enjoyed life. She is survived by 2 daughters: Vickie Smith of Abilene, TX and Verla Reed & husband Jerry of Brownstown; 2 step-sons: Major Mugrage & wife Jana of Rinard, Scott Mugrage & wife Julia of Scottsbluff, NE; 1 sister: Lillian Hout & husband Gene of Henderson, KY; sister-in-law: Betty Holmes of Lake Havasu, AZ; and several grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Evelyn was a hard worker and enjoyed yard work, gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. 2850 | Everett Maurice Bangert, age 81, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at his home. He was born December 31, 1939, in Ingraham, Illinois, the son of John O. and Ruby I. (Cochran) Bangert. He was united in marriage to Kaaren J. Osborn on May 30, 1958, and together they have shared 63 wedding anniversaries. Maurice was born and raised in the oil patch around Ingraham. His life work revolved around the oil industry and farming. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed a good card game. He was quite happy to see his daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren take up and enjoy deer and turkey hunting on the family farm. Maurice did not think he would like golf but when he was finally convinced to give it a try, he and Kaaren had many years of adventures on the golf course. Maurice battled Pulmonary Fibrosis and often commented on the excellent medical care he received noting that he was 8 years into a disease with a 5-year life expectancy. He is survived by his wife: Kaaren Bangert; daughter: Kathy (Philip) Leonard; grandchildren: Megan (James) Doerfler and Aaron (Jennifer) Leonard; great-grandchildren: Addyson Doerfler, Bryleigh Doerfler, and Everett Leonard; siblings: Ron (Naomi) Bangert and Jona (Mike) Uptmor; brother-in-law: Larry Osborn; and numerous nieces, nephews, greats, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Stephen Bangert; brother: Patrick Bangert; and brother-in-law: Everett Osborn Family services will be held at a later date with burial in Clay City Cemetery.
