3002 Fred Eugene Weiler, age 91, of Flora, Illinois, and former Clay City resident, passed away Monday night, December 18, 2017, at his home.
He was born August 23, 1926, in Clay City, to Eugene and Marie (Holman) Weiler. He was united in marriage to Audrey Nadine Bissey on March 8, 1946, in Clay City, and they have shared 71 anniversaries together.

Fred was a farmer. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II, and was Past Commander of Clay City American Legion. He was also a member of Clay City United Methodist Church, a member and Past Master of the Flora Masonic Lodge, served on the Clay City School Board, and drove a school bus.

Fred is survived by his wife: Audrey Weiler of Flora; children: Richard (Rebecca) Weiler of Durango, CO, Kathy (Mike) Kitley of Flora, and Teresa (Fred) Verner of Santa Fe, NM; 6 grandchildren: Jeff Weiler of Lodi, CA, Jamie (Andy) Myers of Flora, Troy (Amy) Kitley of Flora, Tracy (Abby) Kitley of Flora, Katelyn (Jacob) Shapiro of West Lafayette, IN, and Dr. Ryan (Dr. Kari) Verner of Houston, TX; 6 great-grandchildren: Mallory and Marli Myers, Emma, Halle and Landree Kitley, and Andrew Kitley; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Bill Weiler; and 2 sisters: Norma Cummins and Anna Mary Carrington.

A funeral service for Fred Weiler will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will be in the Clay City Cemetery with military honors. A visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday evening with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in Fred’s memory may be given to Clay City United Methodist Church or Clay County Hospice.

3003 Fred Eugene Weiler, age 91, of Flora, Illinois, and former Clay City resident, passed away Monday night, December 18, 2017, at his home. Weiler, Fred Eugene (I22922)
 
3004 Fred H. Clark, 80, a former Wayne county treasurer, died at Memorial Hospital.

A long time Democrat, he served as county treasurer in the 1930's, and had resided in Farifield ever since. He was born and reared north of Wayne City.

Mr. Clark suffered a heart attack December 8 and had been a hospital patient since that date, excepting for three weeks when he was home. He entered the hospital for the last time February 8.

Fred H., son of William and Amanda Clark, was born in Wayne county December 27, 1886.

In 1905 he was married to Delia Keltcher, with three children born to their union. In additon to these children, the Clarks took into their home and reared, Mrs. Orval Kazort from the time she was 16 months old.

His wife passed away in 1951.

He was a retired Baptist minister and served for some time as the missionary for the Mt. Erie Baptist Association. Later he was also employed as a guard at Airtex.

He was a member of the First Baptist church here.

Surviving are the children; a son, Maurice; two daughters, Dorothy Ferguson, and Thelma Sheldon; and Mrs. Kazort, of Rochelle. One sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held from Nale's Funeral Home with burial in Maple Hill cemetery.

3005 Fred S. Beck, age 79, well known German township farmer passed away this morning at the Richland Memorial Hospital, following a long period of ill health.

A lifelong resident of the county, Mr. Beck was born the son of John Beck and Elizabeth Sager Beck.

He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church having been first a member of St. James Church and later a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

He was a veteran of World War and served in the United States Army.

He was married to Erma Scherer on June 25, 1924. She survives him.

Other survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Wilma Jean Beck of Rt. 2, 01ney; two granddaughters, Carol Sue and Connie Lynn Beck. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Clara Craig and Mrs. Bertha Craig, both of Olney, and a brother-in-law, Orin Scherer of Rt. 2, Olney; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later from the Summers-Rainey Funeral Home.

3006 Fred Strange, 75, of Flora, IL, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 1996 at Clay County Hospital in Flora.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, in Flora, with Rev. Brad Henson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora, with full military rites. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Clay County Visiting Nurses.

Strange was born July 1, 1920 in Flora, the son of Henry Silas and Mary Elsie (Weir) Strange. He married Juanita E. Crites June 24, 1950 in Olney, IL. She preceded him in death Aug. 22, 1995.

He was a member of Bloom Baptist Church in Flora. He was a WWII Veteran and a member of Flora American Legion Post.

He is survived by one son, Darrell Strange and his wife Sheila, of Clay City, IL; two daughters, Priscilla Gharst, of Springfield, IL, and Anita Allen and her husband, Rocky, of Flora, IL; two brothers, Henry Strange, of Flora, IL and Delbert Strange, of Fairfield, IL; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters.

3008 Fred was president of the board of directors of Prairie Farms for over 20 years and he owned and operated Domino K Dairy. He was a Parish Council Trustee and he was on the St. Joseph School Board. Fred was a Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. He was also a part of the Class of 1952 in Clay City and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fred’s first priority was always his wife. 3009 Fred worked in a chemical plant in St. Louis, Missouri. Fred and Vickie used to own a fishing cottage on the Kaskaskia River south of Carlyle, Illinois. He was last known to be living at Huey, Clinton County, Illinois. He died of cancer o on 6 October 1963 at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri. 3010 Freda Mae (Schwartz) Runyon, age 89, of Noble, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital.

Freda was born on September 19, 1931 in Richland County, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Irvin and Bessie (Berger) Schwartz. She married Lenard Runyon on July 15, 1950 at Pleasant Ridge Church. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2013.

Freda was a member of the First Christian Church in Noble.

Freda was always hard-working and willing to help others. She was a wonderful cook & baker, and always welcomed people to her table.

In the early years, when the children were small, she enjoyed helping with the farming by driving the tractor and combine and helping with the livestock. She enjoyed attending basketball games her children and grandchildren were involved in.

She loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds. She loved her big family and was always willing to help the grandchildren if they wanted to learn to do something she was doing, such as making noodles, jelly, and pies. Another favorite activity was making an annual trip to Branson with her sisters.

Every child and grandchild was blessed to receive at least one beautiful quilt made by her loving hands. She also crocheted many beautiful baby blankets for all the new additions to the family.

She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Freda is survived by her six children, Diana (Henry) Bryan of Belleville, IL, Terry (Rose) Runyon of Noble, IL, Steve (Janice) Runyon of Olney, IL, John Runyon and Shirley Jenkins of Olney, IL, Donna (Paul) McGill of House Springs, MO, and Jeff (Peggy) Runyon of Noble, IL.

Surviving Grandchildren are Adam (Kristy) Bryan, Andrea (Mike) Green, Kathleen (Colin) Hogg, Matthew Runyon, Stephanie (Shawn) Williams, Amanda (Mike) Klingler, Lucas (Leslie) Runyon, Blake (Melissa) Runyon, Annette (Brett) Runyon-Donoho, Jennifer (Johnny) Carson, Jonathan (Jenn) Runyon, Nick Gibson, Daniel (Cortney) Runyon, Samantha (Drew) Denten, Tyler (Mary Elise) McGill, Ryan (Kelsey) Runyon, Rachel (Neil) Lortie, and Austin (Brandi) Runyon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lenard, sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Daryl) McGregor, sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Russell) Stacey, sister, Esther Schwartz, and great-grandchildren, Reese and Joshua Klingler.

Interment will follow the service at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont.

3011 Frederick A. Zuber. 80, of Newton, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2001, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today with rosary at 7 p.m. at Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton with Father Joseph Molloy celebrating mass.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ste. Marie with full military rites by Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932.

Mr. Zuber was born on September 3, 1920, in Jasper County, the son of John and Caroline (Ochs) Zuber. He married Leatha Burgener on November 25, 1947, in Ste. Marie. She survives.

He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton. He was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ste. Marie. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932.

Mr. Zuber is survived by his wife of 53 years, Leatha Zuber, of Newton; four sons, Paul Zuber and his wife, Linda, of Newton, Dave Zuber and his wife, Terri, of Newton, James Zuber and his wife, Carol, of Newton, and John Zuber and his wife, Debbie, of Newton; six daughters, Catherine Sullens and her husband, Dave, of Kilgore, Texas, Ginny Jones and her husband, Richard, of Ore City, Texas, Rose Compton and her husband, Gerry, of Shelbyville, Joanne Will and her husband, Alen, of Neoga, Ruth Lindley, of Newton, and Mary Pool and her husband, Bruce, of Berryville; a brother, Frank J. Zuber, of Newton; two sisters, Marie Jones, of Rockford, and Christine Ginder, of Olney; and 35 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and one grandchild.

3012 Frederick Daniel HASLER, son of Frederick and Barbara [(PORTER)] HASLER, was born at Scotland, Indiana, August 22, 1857, departed this life November 21, 1910, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Margaret HUFFMAN, near Bloomfield. He was aged fifty-three years, two months and twenty-nine days.

He leaves an aged father, two sisters and three brothers to mourn his departure. His mother, three sisters and one brother having preceded him to their heavenly home.

3013 Frederick F. Shelton, age 89, of Clay City, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday afternoon, June 8, 2023, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana surrounded by all his children and grandchildren.

He was born January 30, 1934, in Clay County, the son of Alonzo L. and Mildred Ann (Mugrage) Shelton. He was united in marriage to Shirley Laird on December 31, 1958, at the Wesley Methodist Church in Flora and together they have shared 64 wedding anniversaries together.

Fred was a graduate of Clay City High School and went on to study architecture at SIU Carbondale. He served in the US Army and had worked at McDonnell Douglas and later owned and operated Clay County Implements from 1988-2005. Fred was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley Shelton of Clay City; 3 children: Sheila (Darrell) Strange of Clay City, Randy Shelton of Flora, and Dina (Hank) Hilmes of Flora; 4 grandchildren: Dustin (Jordyn) Strange, Silessia Brown, Sonae Shelton, and Dalton (Beth) Hilmes; and 6 great-grandchildren: Laighlah and Rayna Strange, Qynlin and Quadn Brown, and Judson and Hadley Hilmes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Barbara Shelton, Charlotte Shelton, Freida (Harold) Taggart, Loeta (Edwin) Gibbs, and Bob Shelton.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Clay City Cemetery with the presentation of military funeral honors. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Bethel Church, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.

3015 Frederick R. Ingles, the son of Henry Plummer Ingles and Kate Fisher Ingles, was born Feb. 17, 1885, in Holden, Missouri, and departed this life Jan. 4, 1958 at the Richland Memorial Hospital. Ingles, Frederick F. 'Fred' (I22358)
 
3016 Frederick W. Kluthe died last Thursday at Bible Grove, aged 70 years and 14 days. Deceased suffered a stroke two years ago and had a second seizure last year. While preparing a potato patch he was stricken a third time Wednesday, April 15, expiring next day. Deceased was born April 2, 1844, at Westphalla, Germany, and came to this country in 1848, settling for several years in St. Louis and moving from thence to Washington county, locating first at Okawville and later at Plum Hill and from there to a farm near Winterrowd. He was a patriotic citizen and during the civil War enlisted in 1862 in Co. K, 80th Ill. Inf., serving nearly three years.

In March, 1867, he was married to Miss Sophia Krueger, who survives him.

He leaves four sons and four daughters, two sisters, Mrs. Christine Poehler of Effingham county and Mrs. Hy Krueger of Nashville and many other relatives and friends. Deceased, who was esteemed by all who knew him, two years ago made his home at Bible Grove, Clay county, where he owned a fine property.

The funeral took place Saturday afternoon in the Evangelical church at Bible Grove. Interment was made in the Evangelical cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Hy. Krueger, Mrs. Wm. Fehrman of here, Miss Amelia Krueger, Geo. Wulfmeyer and Hy Krueger, son of the late Fred Krueger attended the funeral. Deceased onMarch 26 was present at the funeral of the late F. M. Krueger.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Homewood at Crumland Farms, 7407 Willow Road, Frederick, Md., with the Rev. Beverly Stang officiating.

3021 Frieda Caroline Noll, 95 years young, departed this life for Heaven on April 8, 2017 at the home of her daughter Marilyn E. Doyle in Jeffersonton, VA

Frieda was born on October 9, 1921 to William and Meta Mueller of Stewardson, IL. She spent several of her early adult years working in Chicago before returning to down-state Illinois to be closer to home and family. She married farmer Otto W. Noll and lived in the Strasburg area for 20 years before divorcing in 1966. Frieda moved to Mattoon, IL working as a housekeep for many families including three generations of the Link-Thiel family until her retirement. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mattoon, IL for almost 50 years and an officer of the Mattoon Senior Club.

She is survived by her only child, Marilyn E. Doyle (Eric) of Jefferson, VA; grandsons, Jason E. Doyle (Peggy) of Chesterfield VA and Kirtlin W. Doyle of Annandale VA; great-grandchildren Amanda Cantrell (Robert) of Fredericksburg VA, Joshua, Kaitlyn, and Brandon Doyle of Chesterfield VA; great, great-grandson Caleb Cantrell of Fredericksburg VA; special friend and companion Mildred “Sissy” Ritchie of Culpeper VA; and sisters Ruby Steineman and Eileen Quicksaw of IL, and Geraldine Klingaman of MO. She was proceded in death by her parents and great-grandson Phillip Dean Embrey.

Funeral services in her honor will begin at 1:30 pm, on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Living Hope Lutheran Church, 325 Courthouse Rd, Stafford, VA 22554 with Rev., Jonah P. Burakowski, officiating. The family will receive friends and family at the church starting at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Stafford Memorial Gardens, 154 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, VA 22554.

3022 Fritz was born on November 4, 1921, in Clay County, the son of Frank and Carrie (Schnautz) Thomann. He was the 6th of 7 children and was born in his parent’s home. He built another home for his parents and remained on the homestead as a dairy and grain farmer 7 miles northwest of Noble until he was 93.

He married Irene Burgener on December 1, 1946 at Saron Reform Church in Richland County. She preceded him in death on September 8, 2009 after they were married for over 60 years and had 7 children. At the age of 91, Fritz married Doris Hasler Everette. She preceded him in death 4 years later as they resided at Brookstone Estates.

Fritz and Irene and their 7 children as well as Doris and her 4 children all attended Glenwood Church in Noble. He was a member of Lincoln Landers Motorhome Association for many years. Fritz enjoyed playing cards, going bowling and spending time visiting with people. He never knew a stranger.

Charles Lysander Taylor Jr., 33, Noble, died at his home Thursday. A heart attack has been listed as the unofficial cause of death. Services were held Sunday at the Cardascio Funeral Home in Noble. Burial is Crest Haven Memorial Park, Claremont, Il.

Mr. Taylor was born in Olney on Nov. 24, 1946 to Charles and Alberta (Gross) Taylor Sr. He married Regina Joyce Overton on June 6, 1970 in Shawneetown. She survives. He was a member of the Noble Christian Church and the Noble Fire Department.

Other survivors include a son, Monty R. and a daughter, Gina M., both at home: six sisters, Mrs. Freda Payne of Joliet, Kathaerine Gum of Salem, Ore., Sharon Harper of Noble, Geraldine Shroyer of Sailor Springs, Ann Lincoln of Lutesville, Mo., and Sandra Kurtz of Flora: and his mother, Alberta Combs of Seminary.

Certificate of Disability for Discharge

James Limes private of Captain William J. Stephenson Company B., of the 48th. Regiment of the Illinois Volunteers, was enlisted by William J. Stephenson, of the 48th. Regiment of the Illinois Volunteers at Louisville, Illinois on the second day of Sept. 1862, to serve three years; he was born in Fayette County in the state of Ohio, is 42 years of age, five feet 10 inches high, fair complexion, blue eyes, auburn hair, and by occupation when enlisted a blacksmith. During the last two months said soldier has been unfit for duty 50 days. Said Limes was able for duty for three months after enlisting, disease caused by explosion.

I CERTIFY that I have carefully examined the said James Limes of Captain Stephenson's Co., and find him incapable of performing the duties of a soldier because of neuralgia of the head with a diseased condition of the brain.

On this 28th day of Oct., A.D., 1864 personally appeared before The Clerk of the Clerk of the Clay County Court a Court of Record within and for said county, James Limes aged 47 years, a resident of -- in a county of Clay, and the State of Illinois, who, being first duly sworn according to law, declares that he is be identical James Limes who enlisted in the service of the United States, at Louisville, in the County of Clay, and State of Illinois on the second day of Sept., in the year 1861 as a private in Company B., commended by Captain W. J. Stephenson, in the 48th Richmond of Illinois Volunteers, commended by C. L. Haynie in the war of 1861, and was honorably discharged on about the 12th day of May A.D. 1862 as will appear by his certificate of discharge herewith presented to Certificate of Discharge was filed with a former Declaration in the office of Pensions.

That while in the service aforesaid, in the line of his duty he was struck between his shoulders by a spent ball producing injury of the spine and the concussion produced by the firing of heavy artillery has seriously affected his head producing a falling or spasmodic affliction's at times entirely disabling him from labor and at all times from following his trade which is that of a blacksmith to any extent.

Patterson, John W. - Pioneer citizen and good man of Hopkins County, died Friday evening at his home between Brashear and Cumby from a heart attack following several months of failing health. Surviving are his wife and the following children: W.R. of Commerce, Mrs. O.L. Turner, Hugo, OK; O.L. Patterson, Ridgeway; Claude Patterson of Sulphur Springs; Fred Patterson of Commerce, Grace, Kenwood and Helen Patterson of Cumby; Mrs. Verge Stearman, Dike; Mrs. Cecil Hogan, Commerce. He also leaves three brothers, George Patterson, Sulphur Springs; Tom and Robert Patterson, Vernon; and one sister, Mrs. Abbie Littrell. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove with Elder Ed. ALICE E. WELLS PASSES BEYOND

Widow of Simpson Wells Had Lived Here 45 Years

Following more than a ayear's illness of a complication of diseases, Mrs. alice E. Wells, 69, widow of Simpson Wells and for 45 years a resident of this city, passed away this morning at 10:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. V.B. Ailstock, in the Rost-Meyer building, Fifth and Washington streets. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church conducted by the Rev. E. Robb Zaring. Burial in Garland Brook cemetery.

Mrs. Wells was a spendid woman, deeply religious, and had scores of friends throughout the county by all of whom she was most highly esteemed. She was regarded as an ideal mother, greatly devoted to her home and family and her death, although not unexpected, came as a severe shock to her children and brought grief and madness to many homes.

Mrs. Wells was born in Vincennes, Ind. January 25, 1858, and spent her firlhood there. Early in life she was united in marriage to Mr. Wells and shortly after their marriage they came to this city to live. Mr. Wells passed away in 1910. For a number of years, Mrs. Wells lived with her son Kenneth Wells in the Pope property at sixth and Pearl streets, but for the past two years had made her home with her daughters. She was taken ill about 18 months ago and a year ago underwent a surgical operation at the May Bros. hospital at Rochester, Minn. She apparently recovered from her illness and the operation, but later she again was stricken and although everything possible was done to relieve her suffering and restore her to heatlh, all efforts failed and for the past few weeks death had been expected.

Mrs. Wells was a member of the Methodist church and of the various church societies, including the Ladies Aid Society and the Berean Bible class. She was also a member of the Bartholomew county chapter of War Mothers and in each of these organizations was an active and tireless worker as long as her health permitted.

Surviving are eleven children; William Wells, Charles Wells, Kenneth Wells, and Mrs. Ailstock, all of this city; John Wells, Simpson Wells and Frank Wells, of Bedford, Ind.; Mrs. Edna Kyte, south of the city; Mrs. John Seele of Connersville; Oscar Wells of Peru, and Walter Wells, of Texas; twenty grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters; Mrs. Bell Neff of Arizona, Mrs. Bertha Bradford of Indianapolis, and three brothers; Frank Kennedy, of Big Springs, Texas, Fred Kennedy, of St. Louis, and Charles Kennedy of Arkansas.

Obituary of That Good Lady--Funeral Saturday.
Special to the News.

Keswick, Feb. 8--Ann Maria Rubins, daughter of William and Mary Rubins, was born in the state of Ohio, May 10, 1836, was married to Jacob Griner in 1856, and died February 2, 1905, aged 68 years, 8 months and 22 days.

She, with her husband and family came to Keokuk county, Iowa, in the fall of 1860, settling on a farm in English River township where she resided until February, 1893, when she moved to Keswick. There she spent the remainder of her life. She leaves seven children, three sons and four daughters, thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers and two sisters to mourn their loss.

The funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Keswick, Saturday at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. P.M. Conant. The burial was at the White Pigeon cemetery.

"WILLIAM AUSBROOK, RESIDENT HERE FOR FIFTY YEARS, DIES

EAST MOLINE -- William G. Ausbrook, 78, a resident of East Moline for the last 50 years and a former supervisor at the East Moline State hospital, died at 3:45 yesterday afternoon in his home, 1425 Fifth avenue, East Moline. He had been ill about five weeks.

Mr. Ausbrook was born July 13, 1870, in Clay City, Ill. On Jan. 25, 1893 he married Ada Rose in Clay City where they made their home until 1898. In that year they moved to East Moline. Mr. Ausbrook became a supervisor at the East Moline State hospital when it was established and helped to receive the first patients at the institution which was then known as Watertown State hospital. He had been retired for several years.

Mr. and Mrs Ausbrook lived in East Moline until 1921 at which time they moved to Moline, remaining there until their return to East Moline in 1941. Mrs. Ausbrook died in 1945.

The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1943 and both were charter members of Grace Methodist church, East Moline. Mr. Ausbrook was a trustee of the church for many years, having retired from that post last year. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lela Mercer of East Moline and Mrs. Helen Soderquist of Akron, O.; two brothers, Clyde of Noble, Illinois and Edward of Rock Island; 11 grandchildren and six great-grand children

ADDA AUSBROOK, AGE 75, IS DEAD; FUNERAL MONDAY

East Moline--Mrs. Adda Rose Ausbrook, 75, of 1425 Fifth Avenue, East Moline, a resident of this and adjacent communities for many years, died in her home yesterday afternoon after an illness of eight years.

Mrs. Ausbrook was born in Bible Grove, Ill., Feb. 11, 1870, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs Drury Rose. She was married to William G. Ausbrook in Clay City, Jan. 25, 1893. Prior to moving to East Moline about four years ago she had resided for many years in Moline.

She was a member of Grace Methodist church and the Royal Neighbors lodge.

Surviving are the widower; two sons, R.E. Ausbrook of Maywood and Don H. Ausbrook of LaJunta, Colorado; two daughters, Mrs Lela Mercer of East Moline and Mrs. Helen Soderquist of Akron, O; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Four sisters, Mrs. Ophelia Danhauer of San Diego, Mrs. George Stag (sic: Stang-JEB)of East Moline, Mrs. A.D. Cox of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. G.E. Peterson of Moline, also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Monday afternoon in Grace Methodist church. The Rev. Arthur Miles will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Moline. The body will remain at the Primm funeral home until time for services in the church.

3032 From the Revolutionary War pension application # S41408, we know that William Allgood enlisted in Virginia, the place not shown, on 11 November 1776, for three years in Capt.Isaac Hicks' Company, Col. Screveb's Georgia Regiment; his service extended through September 1, 1781. He was allowed a pension of $8.00 per month on application executed on February 13,1828, at which time he was 67 years old and a resident of Surry Co., N. C. In 1828, his wife and four daughters were living with him; their names are not given and no other family information is found in the papers on this claim. On 23 September 1933 the Old North State Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Winston Salem, North Carolina place a large stone and marker at the grave site of William at the Allgood Cemetery on Old Stage Coach Road in Yadkin County. The subject of our sketch was born In Ohio in 1861. For a number of years he haa been connected with the drug trade of Flora, first as pharmacist in other stores, and later as proprietor of the City Drug Store.

He is a graduated pharmacist, as well as having had years of experience, and is conscientious and careful in filling prescriptions. In addition to his complete stock of drugs, paints, oils, etc., he has added a large line of druggist sundries, books, candies, holiday goods, staghorn novelties, dolls, etc.

He is a director in the Building & Loan Association, and takes a lively interest in the moral and material growth of the city.

Jerry Don Snell, 58 year old Woodward resident, died Monday, April 5, 2010 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Mercer officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Jerry Don Snell was born on July 25, 1951 in Clay City, Illinois to Richard Calvin and Betty Jeane (Hilderbrand) Eastin. He was reared in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School. Jerry worked in the oil field for various companies and lived in several different towns, including Yukon, Mustang and Edmond. He returned to Woodward in 1986 and has lived here since that time. Jerry had been working as a Driller for Goober Drilling until his health forced him to retire. He was united in marriage to Terrie Stewart on December 26, 2009 in Woodward, Oklahoma.

He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycles, boating, but most of all he enjoyed hunting and OU football. His greatest love was his grandchildren and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the ABATE Northwest Chapter.

He is survived by his wife Terrie Snell of the home; his mother, Betty Eastin of Woodward; mother-in-law, Betty Howe and father-in-law, Ed Howe of Yukon; one sister, Sharon Ashlock of Woodward; Jerry and Terrie's children, Sandy and Darrell Ingraham of Norman, Desarae and Will Childers of Mooreland, Nichole Gartrell of Woodward, Stephen Canning of Guthrie, Kaylnn Snell of the home, Amy and Jason Ferguson of Kingston, Charles and Dixie Taylor of Elk City, David and Donna Taylor of Woodward, Bryan Taylor of Woodward, 16 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends, Kent Anderson, Doyle Kells, Jack Price, Tony Coursney, Richard Hargraves, Jason Ferguson, Billy Bohn and his ABATE brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandfather, Delbert Hilderbrand, two sisters, Linda Snell and Connie Thomas and an infant brother David Snell.

Plan Salem Rites For Mrs. Baity

SALEM--Mrs Flossie Amanda Baity, 50, died at Mercy hospital in Burlington this morning. She is survived by her husband Floyd Baity of Hillsboro, Ia., two sons, Chester of Mt Pleasant and Floyd Jr. of Salem; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Bower, Stockport, and Mrs Robert Lee, Burlington.

Mrs. Baity was born July 14, 1898, at Rinard, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Annabelle Tousley Marshall. She was a member of the Indian Prairie Baptist church at Rinard, Ill..

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Salem Congregational church, in charge of the services the pastor, the Rev. Jay N. Waterman. Burial will be in the Salem cemetery. The body will remain at the Kaspers Funeral home until time of the service.

FLOYD A. BAITY TAKEN BY DEATH

Floyd Austin Baity of Hillsboro, Iowa died at the Keosauqua Hospital Wednesday, December 9, at 3:55 a.m. at the age of 65 years, 2 weeks and 3 days.

Mr. Baity was born November 2, 1894, at Zenia, Ill., the son of Harden and Freedona (Lee) Baity. On June 1, 1916, he was married to Flossie Marshall who passed away June 21, 1957. O March 24, 1958 he married Iva Clark who survivies as do the following children: two daughters, Mrs. Robert E. Lee (Erlene) of Middletown and Mrs. Wayne Bower (Audrey) of Glasgow: two sons, Floyd Jr. Baity of Mt Pleasant and Chester Baity of Salem; also 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. He was preceded in death by one son, Bernice, his father, mother and one step-brother Carl.

Most pf his life was spent in Illinois, farming. In 1941 they moved to Iowa where he has farmed since.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Salem Congregational Church with the Rev. Robert Penrod officiating. Burial will be in Salem East cemetery. The body is at the Waterman Funeral Home in Salem.
