4481	In the autumn of the year 1852, on the second day of November, as the harvests and fruits were being gathered in and hearts were turned toward God, in that season of special gratitude, Isaac and Christian Burkholder gathered into their hearts and home at Martinsburg, Ohio, a little brown- eyed girl, whom they named Anna Belle; and we today meet in deep gratitude for the blessing of the fruits of that life, which, after a sojourn here of 75 years, was transferred to the golden shores of eternity on May 14, 1928.She was one of eight children born to this preacher's home, and the sixth to follow her parents into the home beyond. One brother, J.J. Burkholder of Decatur, and one sister, Mrs Sadie B. Smith of Kankakee, remain. On October 7, 1873, she was united in marriage with Quintes Burnell and during these 55 years has ever been a faithful wife and a genuine and sacred inspiration to her family. She gave to the world eight children, four boys and four girls. Six of these three sons and three daughters, together with her husband, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild, remain and in veriest truth rise up and call her blessed. At 14, she publicly dedicated herself to the service of God and united with the church in her home community, and for these three score years and more rejoiced in that service expressing it through a life of beautiful unselfish serving of these with whom she lived. For 38 years, she has served as a member of the Mt. Gilead Christian Church. Many of these years, she taught in the Sunday school, serving in this capacity all but one of the various classes of the school; and many today are the better because of her contribution to their lives throught the Sunday school. She had an unfailing faith, an undying zeal, an unfaltering perserverance. She lived "not to be ministered unto, but to minister", and she has heard a voice from heaven, gracious and familiar of her, saying "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord", and now she rests from her labors and her works do follow her. The funeral service was conducted at Mt. Gilead, her home church, by her pastor, Rev. S. Price, assisted by her son, Rue Burnell.	BURKHOLDER, Anna Bell (I24799)
4482	In the autumn of the year of 1923, on the 24th day of October, when the harvest of fruits were gathered in, Jasper and Mary Gray gathered into their hearts and home in Wayne County, IL, a little blue eyed baby girl. Awanda Correna Gray, who passed away from this life at the Olney Sanitarium (hospital), April 30, 1937, at the age of 13 years, 6 months, and 6 days. Death was due to tetanus, caused by stepping on a rusty nail six days earlier. She had a kind and loving disposition with her friends both in and out of school. She will be missed by all, especially her brothers and sisters. Her brothers were Lester and Lynn and her sisters were Ruth and Leone. Grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. William Gray. 4487	In the old town of Maysville, Clay County, Mr. Evans was married, November 17, 1859, to Miss Amanda E. Bagwell, a daughter of Thomas J. and Cina E. ( Whiteman) Bagwell. The father was a native of Kentucky, and came to the old town of Maysville in 1842, where he ran a hotel for many years. He died in 1877. The mother was a native of Tennessee, and is still living in Clay City, at the advanced age of seventy-two. Mrs.Evans was born in March, 1842, and is the mother of four children, three of whom are now living: Henry, born November 18, 1860; Ella, October 2, 1863, and now the wife of Charles D. 4492	Ina Corrine Brant, 97 of Clay City, Illinois, passed away October 9, 2015, at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora, Illinois. She married Johnnie M. Brant on May 2, 1937. Being a farm wife and mother, Ina kept busy with her home, large garden, chickens, and baking cookies, pie, or cake every day for her family. Perhaps after dessert, fried chicken was her favorite food. There was always a big glass of iced tea next to the sink. Ina was a member of Ingraham Christian Church and later attended Clay City Christian Church. Ina was born September 22, 1918 in Clay County, the daughter of Curtis Alfred and Zula (Wilkins) Lewis. She was preceded in death by husband of 74 years, Johnnie Brant, son Donald Brant, sister Velma Grady, and brother Elvin Lewis.	Lewis, Ina Corrine (I29617)
4493	Ina Fuson Combs, 97, R.R. 6, Olney, died Tuesday May 12,198 at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney. Services will be at 2 p.m., Friday May 15 at Zirkle Funeral Home in Olney. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery In Wakefield. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday May 14 at the funeral home. She was born Feb. 20, 1890 in Richland County, the daughter John and Nancy Jane (Chestnut) Fuson. She married Lloyd Combs on Sept. 6, 1914. He preceded her death Nov. 3,1984. Mrs. Combs was a charter member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Olney. She was a school teacher in Richland and Clay counties. She was a past member of the Oak Ridge Community Club. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Gerald F. Combs of Silver Springs, Md. and Marion "Bill" Combs of R.R. 6, Olney; by two daughters, Mrs. Harold Marjorie Zerkle of R.R. 1, Oundas and Mrs. Morgan Winifred Newton of Columbia, S.C.; by a brother, Merriett Fuson of Decatur; by two sisters, Mrs. Maude Warren of Newton and Mrs. Myra Nadler of Pharr, Texas; by 13 grandchildren; great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 4494	Ina L. "Madge" Hoffman, 79, of Flora, IL died at 6:28 PM Monday, August 9, 2010 at Flora Rehab & Health Care Center in Flora. She was born February 4, 1931 in Flora to Orval & Ethel (Benskin) Lamb. She married Kenneth E. Hoffman on March 1, 1968 in Joliet, IL. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2002. She worked in Anchorage, AK as a cab driver, then at Western Electric Inc. in Chicago, IL before moving back to Flora where she was a waitress at the East End Cafe for many years. Madge and her husband owned Hoffman Concession Inc. until she retired. She was a member of the Eagles and Old St. Patrick's Church in Chicago. Madge had a strong spirit and accepted every challenge. She loved the outdoors, her dog "Troubles", and her horses "Jr." & "Buddy" whom she was in many parades with. She taught us to have a good heart and be strong. We were priviledged to have her touch our lives with her loving nature as a mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She will long be treasured by those who loved her. Surviving is her daughter: Madeline Roberts & husband Sgt. Michael (USMC); granddaughter: Sherry Followell & husband Eric; step-granddaughter: Karen Kaye Hunley; two great-grandsons: Kalob & Kyle Followell; two step-great-granddaughters: Bridget & Brandi; two sisters: Marion Burgess and Mary Wilson; brother-in-law: Babe Fordice; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers (Orie, William, Roscoe & Ray Lamb), three sisters (Myrtle Maroney, Mona Wilson & Mae Cook), and son-in-law (David Reynolds). Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday (August 14, 2010) at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. 4495	Ina May Rinnert, 91, of Flora, IL died at 8:20 AM Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Christus Schumbert Highland Hospital in Shreveport, LA. She was born January 13, 1919 in Clay County, IL to Gene & Ethel (Beard) Harned. She married Hubert Rinnert on June 29, 1940 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1995. Ina was a homemaker and her memberships included the following: First Baptist Church of Flora, the DFO Sunday School Class of the church, Flora Women's Club, Clay County Hospital Auxiliary, and Beta Sigma Phi. She is survived by 2 sons: James Rinnert of Chicago and Max Rinnert & wife Nancy of Pensacola, FL; 1 daughter: Sharon Newsome & husband Robert of Shreveport, LA; 2 grandchildren: Chris Newsome & wife Catherine of Dunwoody, GA and Randall Newsome of New York City, NY; 3 great-grandchildren: Caralee, Ben & Jack. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 1 brother (William Harned). Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday (September 20, 2010) at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora, with Bill Atwood and Rev. Jay Keele officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora.
