Mr. Mitchell was born on February 29, 1920, in Richland County, the son of Thomas Edmond and Ola (Fulk) Mitchell. He married Leona Maxine Thatcher on June 23, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo. She survives. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Local Union #634 in Salem. She was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Louisville, Ill., to Walter and Kate (Van Houten) Stanley. Norma married Gene Lambert. After raising a family and having a beautiful life together, Gene preceded Norma in death in 1997. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, where she was very active and a member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Chi Rho Womens Circle. Not only was Norma a loving homemaker, but she also worked outside the home at Suttle Apparatus. Surviving family includes three sons, Vincent E. Lambert and wife Robin of Vinemont, Ala., Von E. Lambert and wife Brenda of White Heath and Stanley V. Lambert and wife Jennifer of Selma, Texas; five grandchildren, Jaimi (Ty), Jared (Sally), Jacob (Jenelle), Dylan and Haydn; and two great-granddaughters, Incielle and Olivia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Kate Stanley; husband, Gene Lambert; three sisters; and five brothers. A funeral service for Norma Cathryn (Stanley) Lambert will be at noon Saturday, March 16, 2019, at First United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville, with Pastor Jonah Hamilton officiating. He married Delores (Nettleton) Clark. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in North Africa and Italy 1943-1945. He was a teacher and coach for East Richland School District at Claremont and Parkersburg. He ended his working career by retiring from Yellow Freight in 1986. After retirement he remained active at Immanuel United Methodist Church. He volunteered for Olney city boards and other community and school activities. He was proud to be selected as Olney's Man of the Year for outstanding volunteer service in 1990. Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dolores Nettleton Clark, of Lee's Summit, Mo.; son, Phillip E. After Infantry training at Camp Howze, Texas, departed the U.S. for the European Theater of Operations in February 1945. Leland was preceded in death by his wife of 76 years, Eurtis M. He was born April 6,1921, in Clay County, the son of Dios and Ethel (Callison) Frost. He married Rose Frost, August 31, 1946. She preceded him in death. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator and was also self employed. He was also a Union 841 operating engineer and was a veteran of the Army Corps of Engineers. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Cynde Frost of Olney, and Doug and Carmen Frost of Louisville; special friend and companion Roberta Allen of Louisville; three brothers, Dale Frost of Flora, Harry "Bus" Frost and wife Millie of Xenia, and Guy "Wimpy" Frost and wife Pauline of Louisville; two sisters-in-law, Mary Frost of Louisville, and Joyce Barbee of Louisville; grandchildren, Larry Frost, Bradley Frost, and Brandi Wood and husband Andy; and several great-grandchildren. Mr. Hubble was a good old country boy who enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger days. He loved to garden and visit with his family and many friends. He especially loved a good natured tease. She was born January 3, 1924, in Goodwin, Arkansas, the daughter of Louis Elmer and DuRinda Rinda (Coble) Hamilton. She was united in marriage to William Laverne Pemberton on May 17, 1942, in Louisville, and together they shared 41 wedding anniversaries until his death December 27, 1983. She later married James F. Totten on June 29, 1985, in Flora, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2015. Leona had worked at the International Shoe Company, Sparton Manufacturing, and Clay County Hospital, working in the kitchen. Her dedication to faith was evident in her memberships at First Christian Church in Flora and Antioch Church in Olney. She was a 50-year member and Past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs and sang with the Rebeka Quartet. Leona enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. She loved fishing, sewing, crafts, playing cards and dominoes, and always looked forward to attending the annual Hamilton Reunion at Charlie Brown Park. Leona also enjoyed time spent traveling and during a trip to Israel , she and her husband Jim were rebaptized in the Jordan River. She is survived by a son: Tom (Maria Button) Pemberton of Flora; son-in-law: Ed (Dena) McCracken of Clay City; stepchildren: Larry (Nancy) Totten of Olney and Linda Craig of Calhoun; 7 grandchildren: Chris (Alicia) Wildbur, Chad Pemberton, Eddie (Jolene) McCracken Jr., Jami (Tony) Gibbons, Jacki (the late Mike) Sehie, Keith (Linda) England, John (Mary) England; 13 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; brother-in-law: Elmo Pemberton of Mooresville, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; 2 daughters: Janet England and Vickie McCracken; a grandson: David Pemberton; great-grandson: Mark England; 5 brothers: Earl, Raymond, Clinte, Louie, and Don Hamilton; 4 sisters: Lena Colclasure, Dorothy Stanford VanDyke, Violet Wheeler, and Captola Reynolds Barbee; 3 brothers-in-law: Roy, Harold, and Dean Pemberton; 3 stepsons: George Totten, Leroy Totten, and David Totten; and step-son-in-law: John Craig. Leonard was born the middle son of John and Besse (Ruger) Knowles on Tuesday, November 8, 1927, in Louisville, Illinois. Leonard proudly served in the United States Army from August 7, 1946 until December 5, 1954. He married his wife of 67 years, Doris Y. (Keck) Knowles on Sunday, December 5, 1948, at Sailor Springs Christian Church in Sailor Springs, Illinois. Leonard worked for Country Companies from 1960 through 1988 as an Agency Manager. He belonged to the Rotary Club and the MCHS Sports Boosters club, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed attending Warrior basketball games and Mt. Carmel High School Football Games. He loved traveling with his wife, Doris. Leonard was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Mt. Carmel. Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Doris; one niece, Jean Ann Pelzer, sister-in-law, Wilma Knowles, and a cousin Ulanda Ruger Bryan. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Billie H. Knowles of Sailor Springs, Illinois and James E. Knowles of Nashville, Tennessee.
