She will be remembered for her love for family and her humor. She was a member of the Trinity Full Gospel Church in Cisne and her church was very important to her. Lisa enjoyed crafts and sewing. She is survived by a daughter: Shanna (Tony) Smith; two granddaughters: Breanna (Adam) Stone and Savhanna Smith; two great-grandchildren: Warrick and Penelope Stone; siblings: Rodney (Debbie) Payne, Robin Payne, Troy Payne, and Loretta Payne; and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Rodney Payne officiating. Mr. Brassie was the son of Leo Brassie Sr. and Stella Spangler Brassie. He was married to Millie A. Foster on Sept. 8, 1973 at Lawrenceville. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Stringtown. He is survived by his wife, Millie, and children, Linda Johnson of Paxton, Donna Wyatt of Barlett, Sandy Conway of Schaumburg, Karen Osborn of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Bobby Brassie of Houston, Texas, 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; father, Leo Brassie Sr., of Olney; three step daughters, and two step sons, Rita Gaines of Olney, Rosemary Martin of Seminary community, Shirley Coldwell of Mills, Wyo., Donnie Ford of Bement, and Charles Schackman of Newton. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Stella Potter, and Mrs. Freida Foster, both of Olney, Juanita Brassie of Rantoul, Patty Van Fossan of Lawrenceville, and Leo Brassie Jr. of Calhoun. His mother has preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Olney with the Rev. Fr. L. P. Duesing the Celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Summers Funeral Home with Rosary to be recited. Mr. Brassie was a retired heavy equipment operator and had worked on several large building projects in this area. 5291 | Lloyd E. Mann, 93, of Oblong, IL passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11:07 p.m. at the Magnolia Center, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL. Born on January 31, 1922 in Oblong, IL. he was the son of Porter Wilson Mann and Grace Elizabeth (Vaughn) Mann. On August 4, 1946 he married Lucy Marion Warford and she survives. Lloyd and Lucy celebrated 68 years of marriage. Lloyd was a member of the Oblong High School class of 1940; served his country in the United States Army during WWII and a member of the First Christian Church of Oblong where he was baptized on May 26, 1946. After his discharge from the Army, he drove a school bus for the Oblong School district until he went to work for Marathon. Lloyd was employed as an instrument technician with Marathon for 36 years, retiring on February 1, 1984. He was a member of the Oblong American Legion Post #219; delivered Meals on Wheels and delivered church papers to the shut ins for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed going to auctions and fixing anything for the price of a cherry pie. Lloyd loved spending time with his family and took care of Lucy for the last 10 years. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Lucy M. Mann of Oblong, IL.; three sons and daughters-in-law Gary and Carole Mann, Elberfeld, IN.; Jim and Judy Mann, Flora, IL.; and Fred Mann, Mt. 5293 | Lloyd L. Carder, 96, of Clay City, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Flora. Lloyd was born June 18, 1918 at the family home place in Pixley Township to John and Ella (Noll) Carder. He married Doris M. Patridge on October 17, 1942 in Louisville and together they have enjoyed 72 years of marriage Lloyd served in the U.S. Army in Germany during WWII and retired from Laborers Local Union as a laborer also having worked for Pure Oil Company. He was a longtime member of Sailor Springs Christian Church having served as a deacon and elder. Lloyd was known for his hard work ethic and always had a large garden, but quail hunting was foremost in his life. Lloyd is survived by his wife: Doris Carder of Clay City; four children: Floyd (Peg) Carder of Litchfield, Darrell (Toni) Carder of Clay City, Darlene (John) Nevins of Marshall, IN, and Dennis (Denise) Carder of Oblong; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Norma Carder and four siblings: Melva Stanley, Muriel Stanley, Larry Carder, and Hallie Carder. A funeral service for Lloyd Carder will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Sailor Springs Christian Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Minister Darrell Brandon officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in Clay City Cemetery. Mr. Harris was born July 11, 1911, in Clay County, the son of Walter and Lida (Crackel) Harris. He married Frances Batchelor on June 10, 1939, in Sharpsburg, N.C. She survives. He was a graduate of Eastern Illinois Teachers College with a degree in Industrial Arts. He taught in Rocky Mount, N.C. and at Clay City High School. He was also a retired farmer. Mr. Harris was a member of Sailor Springs Christian Church and Clay City Christian Church. His memberships included the Sailor Springs Post of the American Legion, serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a lieutenant; past president of the Clay County Farm Bureau; charter member of the Sailor Springs Ruritan; charter member of the Sailor Springs Historic Foundation; Clay County Health Department Board. He is survived by his wife, Frances Harris, of Clay City; daughter, Linda Davidson and her husband, Leon, of Sailor Springs; sons, Robert Wayne Harris and his wife, Josephine, of Clay City, George Michael Harris and his wife, Trudy, of Mt. Olive, Fredrick William Harris and his wife, Peggy, of Clay City, and Thomas R. Harris and his wife, Gayle, of Clay City; sister, Maytle Marie Harris, of Flora; brother-in-law, Arthur Laughton, of Clay City; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker.
