5304 | Lois Elouise Weidner, 69, of Olney, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, at her residence. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Olney Free Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Wingert officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney. Mrs. Weidner was born on June 7, 1939, in Grayville, the daughter of Murel and Katherine (Compton) Moore. She married Daniel Curtis Weidner on August 10, 1964. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2005. She was a homemaker and receptionist for Dr. Brown. She was a member of Olney Free Methodist Church. Mrs. Weidner is survived by her daughter, Kim Kuhl and her husband, Doug, of Olney; son, Christopher Weidner and his wife, Kathy, of Olney; brother, Kenneth Moore, of Oakland City, Ind.; grandchildren, Jade and Nick Kuhl and Tice and Tristen Weidner; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and two aunts. 5305 | Lois Jane Hagen, 88, of Noble, died on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at her residence. Lois was born on July 1, 1931 in De Land, IL, the daughter of Thomas Edmund and Ola (Fulk) Mitchell. She married Kenneth Lowell Hagen on July 1, 1950 in Flora, IL and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2015. Lois loved spending time with her family and gardening. She was a school bus driver for the Noble District for 30 years, until her retirement. She loved all of the phone calls she received from her friends and family, and she will be missed by all those that knew her. Lois is survived by her son, Larry Hagen and his friend Joyce, of PA; son, Darrell Hagen and his wife Tammy, of Thompsonville, IL; daughter, Rhonda Buckels and her husband James, of Noble, IL; son, Donald Ray Hagen of Noble, IL; daughter, Donna Kay Martin and her husband Edwin, of Noble, IL; son, Frank Hagen, of Noble, IL; and several nieces and nephews. 5306 | Lois Jean Bates, age 92, of Clay City, Illinois passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 at her home in Clay City. Lois was born January 28, 1922 in Wayne County, Illinois to James Carl and Izora (Graindstaff) Hubble. She married Roscoe L. Bates on November 14, 1938 in Fairfield. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2011. Lois did custodial work at Clay City Grade School. In 1964, Bates Repair Shop opened and she worked with Roscoe in their business as secretary/bookkeeper and helped wherever needed. Lois and Roscoe were also founding members of Clay City Community Southern Baptist Church and she was also a member of Eastern Star. Lois kept busy all the time and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, needlepoint, and gardening. She is survived by two sons: Donald L. Bates (wife Rhonda) of Houston, TX and Thomas E. Bates Sr. (wife Deborah) of Clay City; two sisters: Corrine Delano of Sulphur, LA and Mary Runyon (husband Norman) of Olney; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter (Martha Jean Wright), two brothers (Neil Hubble and James Hubble), and a sister (Juessia Defend). The funeral service for Lois Bates will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in the Clay City Cemetery. She was born in Olney, Illinois on June 14, 1924 to the late Hobart and Agnes Schmoker Gardner. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Penny Stivers and a brother-in-law, Walter Kester. 5309 | Lois L. (Payne) Eastin, age 89, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 28, 2021, at her home. She was born December 9, 1931, in Sailor Springs, Illinois, the daughter of Pearl and Florence (Anderson) Payne. She was united in marriage to Kenneth W. Eastin Sr. on December 9, 1951, in Clay City, Illinois, and together they shared 57 wedding anniversaries until his death March 7, 2009. Lois was a charter member of First Southern Baptist Church in Flora. In the past she had worked at the garment factory, shoe factory, and Sparton Manufacturing. She had babysat for more than 50 years and held a special place in her heart for the many children she had cared for over the years. Lois will be remembered as a wonderful example of a loving mother and wife. She had been a patient at the hospital since tetanus set in three days prior to her death. She stepped on the nail about a week ago, relatives said. Lois was born June 29, 1936 in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of Gaylord A. Gill and Bonnie E. (Frank) Gill. She married Dale Eugene Stanley on December 19, 1954 in Clay City, Illinois. Lois was a secretary and bookkeeper at the Clay City Grade School and the Clay City Village Hall, until she retired. Lois enjoyed working in the yard and taking care of all her flowers and shrubs. She crocheted and made the most beautiful doilies. She also loved to cook and bake and no one left her house hungry. She and Dale enjoyed several winters in Okeechobee, FL. They also enjoyed camping with friends and family. After many years of having to listen to St. Louis Cardinals and Illini Basketball, she finally decided if you can't beat them, join them and became a huge fan and watched every game with Dale. She will be especially remembered for the love she had for her husband, children, and grandchildren. 5315 | Lois was born Feb. 22, 1936, in Flora, Ill., to Myrel Victor and Freda Louveda Vail Wheeler, and died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at her home. Lois grew up and attended school in the Flora area. She worked for the Four Sisters Sewing Machine Company. Later in the 1950's Lois worked cutting broom corn and picking cotton. On Sept. 29, 1953, she married Joseph D. Eastin in Shawneetown, Ill. Together in the 1950's they opened up and operated the Little Diner in Flora. It was in operation for about 5 years. They then moved to Enid in the 1970's where Lois helped open and operate Lot-a-Burger. They also operated the Nashville Tavern for 5 years. She was the record keeper for her husbands Oil Field Exploration business which was a sub-contractor for a larger oil business. Lois was a member of the American Legion Auxillary and was active in supporting military functions, played bingo, worked at crafting and loved computer games. She is survived by 2 daughters and a son, 3 sisters, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 5323 | Loren DeLaney, 77, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Loren was born May 19, 1925, in Flora, Ill., to Ernest H. and Jesse Hockman DeLaney. He and Jeannine Hout were married on Dec. 27, 1950, in Flora, Ill. He moved with his wife and two daughters to Wichita Falls in 1960, where he owned and operated several restaurants including The Big D Drive-In. He later came out of retirement to work at Hamilton Bryan for a number of years. He was a 1943 graduate of Flora High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Robinson and during the Korean War on the USS Daniel A. Joy. He was a member of Faith Masonic Lodge #1158 AF & AM, the Scottish Rite, and formerly, the Maskat Shrine Foot Patrol. He was a member of Floral Heights United Methodist Church and the Anniversary Sunday School Class. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Floral Heights United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls with the Reverends Dennis Wilkinson and Mary Cantrell officiating. 5325 | Loren G. Coble, 86, of Flora, IL died at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Flora Rehab & Health Care Center in Flora. Mr. Coble was born February 18, 1924 in Rantoul, IL, the son of Roscoe and Ella (Souder) Coble. He grew up on a small farm on the banks of the Little Wabash River in Clay County, IL where he attended a one-room schoolhouse and graduated from the eighth grade. It seems the school was miles from the farm, up hill both ways and normally in deep snow. Mr. Coble worked in the oil field in Texas and Louisiana before entering the Army and serving in Europe during WWII. His primary duties were as a motorcycle mounted MP and included escort work for General Eisenhower and operations in France. Before leaving for Europe he married Juanita Pittman on February 23, 1943 in Flora, IL. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Mr. Coble began a long career in the auto parts business in Flora, including work at the Chevrolet dealership, Eaton's Auto Parts and Lincoln Parts. After retirement, Mr. Coble worked part time at Halliburton and the Flora Medical Center, and also volunteered as a bus driver for cancer patients. He was member of the First Christian Church where he served as a deacon, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. He served over 20 years in leadership positions in the Boy Scouts of America where his natural rapport with young people and his lead by example style was a perfect fit. Loren Coble was a devoted father and grandfather, who always had a story and never met a stranger. Survivors include one daughter Vickie Jones, one son Robert Coble; five grandchildren: Jennifer Dotson, Thomas Jones III, Michael Jones, Erin Coble and Tracy Coble; seven great-grandchildren: Lauren Dotson, Trey Dotson, Katie Dotson, Ana Elise Jones, Thomas Jones IV, Elizabeth Jones, and Brody Jones; one sister, Virginia Peak of Mattoon, IL. 5327 | Loren was a Private First Class in the US Army during the Korean War. Upon his return from the military he took a job at Hurns Lumber Co. where he was employed for more than 50 years. He also was a farmer, a volunteer firefighter with the OFD, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Olney. Loren was a hard worker and always busy providing for his seven children. 5329 | Lorena Mae Dehart, 91, of Clay City, died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Clay County Hospital in Flora. Lorena was born April 13, 1917, in Clay County, the daughter of George and Maude (Luke) Abbott. She married Elmo Glen Dehart on April 11, 1935 and he preceded her in death on May 31, 1999. Lorena was a retired cook at Clay City High School and was a member of Clay City Community Baptist Church. Lorena is survived by her daughter, Janice Kye Dehart; son, John Dehart; brother, Harold Abbott; three grandchildren, Debra Kaye DeHart, Jason Dehart and his wife, Erin, and Heath Dehart and his wife, Addie. Lorena was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 11 siblings. Services were held at Clay City Community Baptist Church with Reverend Charlie Allen officiating. Burial will be in Clay City Cemetery in Clay City. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City was in charge of arrangements Memorials can be made to Clay City Community Baptist Church. His wife came through here Friday from their home in Colorado,but did not reach the bedside of her husband until death had come. Mr. Iler, leaves besides his wife, three children. Chris. Josie, John Hessler, and Mrs. Mary Hungerford, uncle, brother and sister respectively, of Mrs. Iler, all went from here to Fullerton to attend the funeral. The Ilers left Colorado about one year ago. Loretta was born on April 7, 1929 in Clay County, the daughter of John Franklin and Nellie Margaret (Wease) Pettyjohn. She was a member of the Clay City Garden Club Unit 8. Loretta enjoyed quilting and spending time with family and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. Loretta was a member of the Clay City Christian Church. Loretta is survived by her son, Danny E. Wilder; Son, Larry D. Wilder; Daughter, Phyllis K. Cox and husband, Gary; Son, Paul F. Wilder; Daughter, Lynn Wilder; 11 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren. Although Loretta was an only child, she was blessed with cousins who were more like sisters. Surviving cousins include Karen Marlow, Carol Raley, Rena Thomas, Donna Given, Cheryl Hampton and Terry Lentz. Lorraine was born May 6, 1925, in Jasper County, the son of Edwin and Julia (Kerner) Dallmier. He married Lucille Volk on April 9, 1947, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin. She survives. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #1704, Jasper County Farm Bureau and Willow Hill Community Club. Lorraine is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille Dallmier; 11 children, Vincent Dallmier, Rose Mary Miller, Theresa Zwilling, David Dallmier, Jerry Dallmier, Robert Dallmier, Thomas Dallmier, Rebecca Shamhart, Brenda Zuber, James Dallmier, and Elizabeth Ginder; brothers and sisters, Madonna Schneider, Maritta Glatz, George Dallmier, Richard Dallmier, and Donald Dallmier, of Arcola; 43 grandchildren; and 57 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Julia Dallmier; three grandchildren, Joyce Miller, Michael Dallmier and Janel Ginder; great-grandson, Corbin Dallmier; and a brother, Eugene Dallmier.
