Schilt of Denver, CO); lived in Grand Prairie, Richland County, IL; was committed to the Illinois State Hospital for the Insane in Jacksonvillee, IL July 15, 1868 (for religious rantings) at age 64 years, died there; people in Olney called him "Crazy" Schilt; lay minister. The German Reformed Church at Olney was established and erected by a few families, about ten in number, and mostly all of Swiss emigration. At a meeting on the 24th of June, 1860, the congregation organized itself, and the following members were elected as trustees to manage and facilitate the building of the present church: John Von Gruten, Christian Bohren, J.J.Fuetz, John Schilt, and Jacob Miller.
