  Ralph Payne 65, Clay City, IL died May 18, 1990, in Richland Memorial Hospital. He was born October 20, 1924, in Clay City, the son of Crawford and Bertha Earhart Payne. He married Charlene Goings September 19, 1947, in Henderson, KY and hse survives. He owned and operated the Standard Station in Clay City for many years. He was a member of the Clay City Baptist Church, the Clay City Oddfellows, the VFW in Flora, the Clay City American Legion. He was also a World War II veteran. Surviving, in addition to his wife; are four brothers, Sherman, Walter, Earl, and Glen Payne; three sisters, Edna Wyatt, Amy Grabowski and Dorothy Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Funeral services were held in the Clay City Baptist Church with burial in the Clay City Cemetery. Hosselton-Bookhout & Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City was in charge.
