- Roscoe "Buster" Runyon, 89, of Olney, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Burgin Manor in Olney.
Mr. Runyon was born January 26, 1924, in Richland County, the son of Billie and Effie (Thomas) Runyon. He married Juanita Harmon on October 10, 1947. She survives.
Roscoe Runyon was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a farmer and had worked as a shoe cutter at the International Shoe Factory and as a press operator at Champion Laboratories.
Mr. Runyon is survived by his wife of 65 years, Juanita, of Olney; daughter, Maxine Tarpley and husband, Tom, of West Salem; son, Ray Runyon and wife, Becky, of Gillette, Wyo.; son, Calvin Runyon and wife, Sandy, of Hempstead, Texas; granddaughter, Lisa Eagleson, of Woodstock, Ga.; granddaughter, Jessica Runyon, of Gillette, Wyo.; brother, Don Runyon and wife, Toni, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother, Richard Runyon and wife, Nellie, of Olney; brother, Larry Runyon and wife, Donna, of Olney; sister, Elsie Seaton, of Catlin; sister, Pauline Ryals, of Calhoun; sister, Helen Harris and husband, Robert, of West Salem; sister-in-law, Katherine Runyon, of West Salem; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billie and Effie Runyon, sister, Oma Jane Seaton, and brothers, James and Harry Runyon.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 11 at the funeral home with Gary Kallenbach officiating.
Burial with full military rites will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Claremont.
