• Notes

  Lucille was killed instantly on US Route 45, two miles south of Tuscola, Illinois. The car in which she was riding skidded on icy pavement and was struck by a transport truck operating out of Matoon, Illinois. The drive of the car was Bunyon (Bunny) Travis on whose farm near Clay City the Pure Oil Company drilled the discovery well of the Illinois Oil Basin in 1937. Travis was injured in the accident. Lucille was visiting her sister Alberta at the time of the accident.
