Notes - Mrs. Naomi R. Tackitt, age 89, died at 7:20a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the Flora Rehab & Health Care Center, in Flora.
Naomi was born on February 13, 1924, in Xenia, IL. Her parents were the late Floyd & Flaura (Woods) Colclasure.
On January 4, 1941, she married James W. Tackitt.
Mrs. Tackitt loved the Lord, her family and the Oak Street Baptist Church in Flora. She took part in raising several of her grandchildren. Naomi loved to cook and did a lot of canning and made a mean blackberry cobbler. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Naomi is survived by her husband, James W. Tackitt, two daughters, Ruth Trowbridge, Breneda Johnson and one son Lester Tackitt. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Eleven great-grandchildren, Eleven great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Chester (Chick) Colclasure, Lloyd Colclasure, and Delbert Colclasure, and three sisters, Esther Heninger, Frieda Zimmerman, and Ilene Farmer.
Funeral services were held at Oak Street Baptist Church in Flora.
Interment followed at Oak Mound Cemetery in Xenia, IL.
Byrd and Kohn Funeral Home was in charge.
