  Jennie Herdes, 98, of Clay City, died November 6, 1988 at the Flora Care Center. Mrs. Herdes was born October 22, 1890 in Clay County, the daughter of Richard H. And Belle Blackledge Lee. She married James H. Herdes. She was a housewife and a member of the Clay City Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Virgil and Winfred; daughters, Iva Gaskin, Mildred Flannagan, and Melba Show; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at Hosselton, Bookhout and Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City. Burial was in the Clay City Cemetery.
