She was a 1931 graduate of Momence High School and also graduated from Gallagher School of Business. She was the Sunday school superintendent, a Sunday school teacher and an administrative board member at her church. She also belonged to Marthas Circle and the Court Unit Home Extension. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, traveling and going to her grandchildren's sporting events.
