  Larry enlisted in the United States Army in January 1955 and retired in March 1976. During 21 years of military service, he served his country commendably with two deployments to Vietnam. He also was deployed to France, Germany, Korea and numerous other military installations throughout the United States. He worked as an accounts payable manager at Champion Labs in West Salem from 1981 until he retired in 2002.
