  Published in the Sumner Press, February 21, 1974: Fred A. Amerman, 64 year old retired insurance agent of Clay City, died Wednesday, Feb. 13 in the Richland County Memorial hospital at Olney. He was born August 5, 1909 in Cumberland County, IL. He was married May 23, 1930 to Nila Smith at Wheatland, IN, and she survives. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clay City. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons: Freddie L. of Rantoul, Ronnie G. of Olney, L. Vance of Plainville, IN, Terry D. O Olney and Jerry L of Clay City; three daughters, Mrs. Everett (Sue) Adams of Noble, Mrs. John (Lila) Deaton of Byltheville, Ark., and Miss Alta Amerman of Olney and one sister, Mrs. Emery (Annie) Baker of Port Arthur, TX. There are 18 grandchildren. The funeral service was held Saturday from the First Baptist Church in Clay City with burial in the Clay City Cemetery.
