  BUCKHEADRIDGE, Fla. — Norman R. Scammahorn, 79, of Buckheadridge, Fla., and formerly of Brownstown, died peacefully Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at home with family present. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Smith Cemetery near Clay City. Norman was born in Clay City Feb. 18, 1931, the son of Samuel J. and Dolly Mae Scammahorn. He served his country in two branches of service, first the U.S. Navy and then the U.S. Army. He was a retired oil field worker and consultant. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Ruby; two sons, Ronnie of Memphis, Tenn., and Sam (wife, Kay) of Summerville, S.C.; one daughter, Debbie Coker of Bunker Hill; stepdaughters, Debbie Hough of St. Elmo, Patti Croy (husband, Bill) of Charleston, Lu Ann Drone of Altamont, and Sandra Krutsinger (husband, Russell) of Louisville; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Scammahorn of Clay City; and one sister, Ninetta German of New York. Norman was preceded in death by his first wife, Jo; his parents; two brothers, Williard and Glenn; and three sisters, Hazel Scammahorn, Helen Rudder and Mary Gray.
