  Robert E. "Gene" Patterson, age 75, of Olney, passed away at 8:33 PM, on Tuesday, Sep. 29th, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM, on Thursday, October 1st, at Stasi-Grove Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will at 10:30 AM, on Friday, October 3rd, in the Chapel of Stasi-Grove Funeral Home. Burial will in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney with full military rites at the graveside conducted by the Richland County Veterans Organization. Robert was born on July 28th, 1934 in Noble, the son of Vern and Mina (Campbell) Patterson. He later married Betty L. Aldridge on May 6th, 1965 in Olney. She preceded him in death. Robert worked on the production line at AMF and maintenance for the Olney Walmart for 18 years and later as a greeter at the Super Walmart in Olney until his death. He was a member of the Christian Church of Olney, and a Korean War Veteran. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and of Nascar Racing. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He is survived by sons, Joshua Aldridge, and his wife Marlene of St. Cloud, FL., Donald Aldridge, and his wife Rose of Olney, Ronald Aldridge of St. Cloud, FL., brother Sam Patterson of Savannah, GA., sister Cordia Hundley of Olney, Nancy Sivers of Terre Haute, IN., brother in law George Thomas of Noble, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Mina Patterson, wife Betty, 2 brothers, Andy and Vern and sisters Mary Patterson, Rebecca Thomas, 2 half-sisters, Eleanor Middleton, Lola Lake and half-brother, Cecil Patterson.
