- Andy Green Patterson, 70, of Belleville, died Tuesday, December 24, 2002, in Marion County as a result of an automobile accident.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 5 p.m. followed at 6 p.m. by a Catholic War Veterans ritual at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home in Belleville. The funeral procession will leave at 10:45 p.m. Saturday from the funeral home for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's
Cathedral Catholic Church in Belleville with Monsignor James Buerster officiating. Burial will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery in Belleville.
Mr. Patterson was born on November 24,1932, in Noble, the son of Vern and Mina (Campbell) Patterson. He married Anna T. Conneely on February 7, 1959. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2001.
He was a retired technical sergeant from the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a communications specialist for 22 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church in Belleville; Catholic War Veterans; American Legion Smithton Post 937; Scott Air Force Base VFW; the 76ers; and Belleville-Swansea Moose Lodge 1221. He was a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.
Mr. Patterson is survived by four children, Daphne Pals and her husband, Mark, of Wilmette, Dawn Verachtert and her husband, Thomas, of Arlington Heights, Mark Patterson and his wife, Dawn, of Mascoutah, and Robert Patterson and his wife, Renee, of Olney; seven grandchildren, Tessa, Bridget and Delaney Pals, Alexander and Matthew Verachtert, and Rhandi and Noah Patterson; three sisters,
Cordia Hundley, of Olney, Nancy Seibert, of Terre Haute, Ind., and Becky Thomas and her husband, George, of Noble; three brothers, Gene Patterson and his wife, Betty, of Olney, Samuel Patterson, of Savannah, Ga., and Vern Patterson and his wife, Maria, of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his' parents, wife, and a sister, Mary Patterson.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church or to Catholic War Veterans.
