Notes - A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, in Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Wilsonville for Carrol W. Brissenden, who died Jan. 23 at age 87.
Mr. Brissenden was born Nov. 26, 1913, in Clay City, Ill. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in mechanical engineering and later attended Stanford University in the executive's business program. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He moved to Portland in the mid-1930s and worked for more than 40 years for Portland General Electric, where he was vice president and general divisional manager, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of Multnomah Presbyterian Church. He served on the board of directors of the local and national American Red Cross and was on the board of the Rose Festival Association. He was an executive director of United Good Neighbors. He moved to Wilsonville in 1990. He married Opal S. Stanford in 1937.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Carolyn Harris; son, Richard; brother, Clarence "Bill" E.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Private interment will be in River View Cemetery.
