- Boyd L. Beehn, 94, of Olney, died at 8:36 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Reverend Bill Wiggs officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney with full military rites performed by Olney veterans organizations.
Mr. Beehn was born February 25, 1916, in West Salem, the son of Reed and Della (Keneipp) Beehn. He married Maude F. Marsh on October 10, 1936. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2007.
He worked in the painting and decorating business since 1935 and was owner of Beehn's Decorating Service in Olney from 1958-1981. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He completed basic training at Camp Lee, Va., then was stationed at Camp Tacoma, Wash., where he worked as a mechanic. He was a member of Olney American Legion and Eagles Lodge for many years.
Mr. Beehn is survived by his daughter, Kae Blain, of Olney; daughter, Sherrill Simms and her husband, Steve, of Olney; son, Barry Beehn, of Charleston; son, Jeff Beehn and his wife, Tracy, of Towanda, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reed and Della Beehn; wife, Maude F. Beehn; infant daughter, Carolyn Rae; sisters, Gladys Rigg, Margaret Vandevener, Juanita Stoltz, and Mildred King; and brothers, Floyd Beehn and Myrel Beehn.
