Notes |
- Marys parents and family moved to Kansas City, Missouri in the 1940s where Mary attended high school and worked as a teenager at a drug store soda fountain. After moving from Kansas City, Mary resided in Centralia, Illinois as a housewife and was a volunteer at the hospital, was active in the school PTA, and played bridge in the local Bridge Club.
She worked for the Midwest Truckers Association in the 1970s with an office in Salem, Illinois and she was the secretary and field representative for the tri state area of southern Illinois, southern Indiana, and northern Kentucky assisting truckers with membership, insurance, permits, licenses, and sold truck tires.
She married Claren Hosselton on March 17, 1979. They moved to rural Clay City and Mary was a housewife helping build a home, helping in the garden, the yard, the flowers, and helped on the farm where she shared 37 years of marriage and raised a son, Lee. Mary painted on canvas and attended Carol Phillips painting class where she became acquainted with some wonderful ladies that helped welcome her to the community. She was a member of the lovely Clay City Garden Club. Mary was a collector of Terri Lee dolls and attended Terri Lee Doll Conventions held in various major cities and won some awards with her dolls. She cared and loved her children and family and was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed being with family and friends. She leaves a sense of loss, sadness, and sorrow and will certainly be missed.
