- Albert Gholson, 74, Terrace Apartments, Westport, died at 4:48 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 1989 in the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 16, 1914, in Green County, Ind., the son of George W. and Elizabeth Correll Gholson. He was raised in Green County, and had resided in Jennings and Decatur counties the past 46 years. He was retired from Arvin Industries, North Vernon, Ind., and also from farming.
He is survived by three daughters, Martha Padgett and Linda Cunningham, both of Westport, and Judith Kay Gresham, R.R.3, North Vernon, Ind.; four sons, Ronald Gholson Sr., and Dennis R. Gholson, both of R.R.3, North Vernon, Ind., Gary K. Gholson, R.R.2, North Vernon, Ind., and James W. Gholson, Mendota, Ill; one sister, Pearl Page, Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, William Gholson, Bloominfield, Ind., and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters and two brothers.
The Rev. Ted Miller will conduct the services at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Bass and Gasper Funeral Home, Westport.
Burial will be in the Westport Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 4 to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
