Participated in the Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns. Earned the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 bronze battle stars and the WWII Victory Medal. Honorably discharged from the Signal Corps as a Technician 5th Grade on December 31, 1945 at the Separation Center, Fort Sheridan, Illinois.   He was a veteran of World War II in the European Theater, in Patton's 3rd Army. Locally he belonged to the First United Methodist Church of Flora; the Golden Links Sunday School Class; the VFW and American Legion Posts in Clay City. He was a farmer, factory worker and oil field rough neck. He also enjoyed gardening, lawn mowing, and wood working.
