She was a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem #104 in Highland, Order of Eastern Star Pocahontas, Illinois and royal Neighbors of America. She graduated from Clay City High School class of 1940, and worked at Brown Shoe Company in Flora. She lived in California while her husband was in the service, and worked in an aircraft factory. They later moved to Texas and then to Greenville in the 1950's. There she worked for DeMoukin Brothers. After her first husband died, she moved to Pochontas then to Highland in 1966, and worked at St. Joseph Hospital for 15 years and retired. She enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren, and being one of the 'Hardee Girls.'
