- Joseph W. Sunday, 86, of Clay City, IL died May 5, 1999, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center at Lakeland, Florida.
He was born February 23, 1913, in Richland County, the son of Wilbur C. and Maggie Burgin Sunday. He married Lenora Dewhirst January 7, 1940, in White County. She died April 2, 1991, he then married Carol Sunday and she survives.
He was a member of the Clay City United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the I.O.O.F. of Olney, a lifetime member of the Flora Elks Club and a lifetime meber of AF and AM #488 of Clay City.
Mr. Sunday is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Larry and James Sunday; two daughters, Sue Fee and Barbara Hobbs; one brother, Wilbur Sunday; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City with burial in the Clay City Cemetery. Masonic services were also held.
