- Charles F. Sibert, 95, of Olney, passed away, Sunday, August 14, 2016 in Olney, Illinois.
He was born to Hugh M. and Alice C. (Carlisle) Sivert on March 13, 1921. He married Velna Lucille Jennings on April 23, 1944 in Corpus Christi, TX and she preceded him in death on January 1, 2011.
Charles was a WW II flight instructor for the US Navy. He was a funeral director at Sivert Funeral Home in Sumner, IL for decades. Charles was a member of the Tighar Organization, a group that searched for missing planes and historical aeronautics. He took pleasure in flying and especially enjoyed open cockpit airplanes. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Olney/Noble Airport and made many friends there.
Charles is survived by his son, Charles E. Sivert of Springfield, IL; Son, David Sivert and wife Sharon of Dayton, OH; Daughter, Carolyn VonAlmen of Phoenix, AZ; Son, George Sivert and wife Beverly of Louisville, KY; Daughter, Doris Sivert of Shreveport, LA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son, Dennis Sivert.
