  He was a retired Fire Chief for the city of Olney. He joined the Olney Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter in July 1964. He was promoted to regular firefighter on July 1, 1970, and was appointed Fire Chief on November 4, 1974. He served as Fire Chief until May 1, 1987.
